...
After getting Thing #1 married off last weekend, I spent the next couple of days in town showing off my phabulous Philly to my out-of-town gal pals (who are also quite phabulous).
And I realized that if the proverb,
"Good fences make for good neighbors"
is indeed true...
...then given the abundance of fences of the historic wrought iron-type in Philly, it's totally understandable why we are known as,
"The City of Brotherly Love"
Fences, fences, everywhere fences = Beaucoup good neighbors = City of Brotherly Love youse guys!
Brotherly love, and the Philly phence. We should discuss this theory over "one, whiz, with".(translation: one cheesesteak, Cheez Whiz, with fried onions). I think I'm on to something.
Here's where I "link up" today.

You are right - your city does have awesome fences ... and you take awesome photos of them. I'm afraid I'd be pretty puzzled to hear someone say "one, whiz ... say wha??
ReplyDeleteWell, I'll be! And a fence with spikes makes really good neighbors (-:
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I'm glad they enjoyed their visit to the city! Are you still using your 18-270mm? I'm trying to decide if I should buy that one for our upcoming trip.
ReplyDeleteYes! I use this lens 99% of the time and think it would be a great choice for your trip!
DeleteStunning shots - I love seeing this wonderful city through your eyes!! Maybe now I know where my love of wrought iron was born! The hint of brick everywhere is wonderful. And the iron contrasted with the soft, growing vines and flowers. Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt is these types of fences I find so charming ... The rusty feeling of iron!
ReplyDeleteGreat captures, Kath ... Happy weekend to you :)
I did not know that Philly was so phull of phabulous phences! Beautiful photos and a great collection.
