Like sand through the hourglass...

...so are the days of my life.  Thirty-four days left of sand quickly slipping away til the big shebang.  Thing #2 weds Thing #2.1.  I am far from the only madre'-of-the-bride to feel overwhelmed, right?  But I am not so sure other MOB's tend to get as bogged down in details as moi.  Kinda makes the hourglass sand morph into quicksand. The perils of being a perfectionist.

"Tag, You're It"

How stuck do I get?  I've finally relinquished the decision making of what to wear to the big day...to a family vote.  Not so sure I agree with them. But I don't necessarily disagree either.  Democracy prevails (until I change my mind). A fond adieu to the UPS man and my daily dress deliveries...and returns!  I shall miss you, my "Man in Brown".  And so will the dogs.

"Framing the Fam"

I know this too shall pass, and too quickly at that. Trying to enjoy every moment in the quicksand.  Added to my list of things to do?  Not stress about the mess of a house, or the shrinking checking account balance (disclaimer:  I added that last one to appease the Better-Half).  The devil is in the details.  That's why I'm just gonna ignore those last two details for now.  Afterall, who needs the devil AND quicksand?!?

Here's where I "link up" today.

Please join me on Sundays for Song-ography.
This week's song title is the Zac Brown Band's "Chicken Fried".

  1. I admire you sticking with the perfectionista. I fell off that wagon a looong time ago, but then sometimes I regret....but I don't miss the stress.

  3. I've been wondering how close you were?! There was no detail that we fussed over that didn't deliver on the big day. The wedding felt like it was ours ~ the choices we made and the things we made together were the icing on the cake on that day. I worked my butt off until a few days before...then let it go and made it all about the people. No doubt the best part was sharing the process with my girl, so I'm glad to see yours will be home soon to obsess with you!

  8. Awe, but how lovely the results of that quicksand. If the tags and frames are any indication it will indeed be fabulous.
Have a great week, but do remember to breath once in a while.

  9. Looks like it will be a memory filled occasion. Two close friends helped with some of the details I worked on a MOG. Wonderful memories of shared fun with little worry of just how perfect each napkin ring looked.

  14. The beauty of it all is that it is happening and any little imperfection or missed detail will matter little. Enjoy every moment.
