"We Are Not Amused"
Ambler, Pennsylvania
"Dorothy: Your Majesty, if you were king, you wouldn't be afraid of anything?
Cowardly Lion: Not nobody! Not nohow!
Tin Woodsman: Not even a rhinoceros?
Cowardly Lion: Imposerous!
Dorothy: How about a hippopotamus?
Cowardly Lion: Why, I'd thrash him from top to bottomus!
Dorothy: Supposing you met an elephant?
Cowardly Lion: I'd wrap him up in cellophane!
Scarecrow: What if it were a brontosaurus?
Cowardly Lion: I'd show him who was king of the forest!"
But what about a stupid groundhog who tells us we have more snow to come?
"Well bust my buttons! Why didn't you say that in the first place? That's a horse of a different color!"

This week's song title is the Alternate Route's "Nothing More".
Ugh! Even we have snow just now...I know, Pacific Northwest...what gives?
ReplyDeleteBaby, it's cold outside!!! Old man winter is really doing a number on us this year! But imagine the wonderful Spring that will come out of all of this! BRING IT ON! Aloha Kathy!
ReplyDeleteWell, your not alone, however it is only 48 degrees here near the gulf coast, muggy, foggy and humid…not my idea of Spring! Darn that ground hog!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, so fitting for a lion with a cap of snow on his head :)
That is hysterical! You find the best things to photography.
ReplyDeleteHope Spring is on it's way, SOON!!! Bet you guys are starting to feel like the movie reel Groundhog Day is playing over and over and over...stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThe weather guy this am: "Cold end of the week ahead, slight "warm up" (air quotes included) this weekend, and well, Monday and Tuesday....but hey look sun on Wed!" - needless to say, more snow soon....
ReplyDeletevery creative shot and words ~ Happy Weekend to you ~ carol

It would be a terrible thing being blinded by snow.
ReplyDeleteKathy, what a great pic. Thanks for the morning laugh.
ReplyDeleteWell done! The great photo catch and conversation with it...
ReplyDeleteSo totes not amused!
ReplyDeleteI laughed when I saw this. A great picture and great use of the quote too.
ReplyDeleteThe snow covering the lion's eyes - I mean really! So good! Couldn't help but think of the ostrich with its head in the sand!
ReplyDeleteI have fallen off my chair, really, this is so funny...well NOT that you have more snow!!
ReplyDeleteLol!! That lion looks very undignified!!! Great shot and post Kathy!
ReplyDeleteIt's early in the morning over here so I need to say a thank you for starting off my day with a giggle at this photo and your matching caption - that's very funny. Due to life, my opportunities for visiting places like this blog had come to a grounding halt, but I'm so pleased I had a chance this morning as your words about perspective in your previous post was exactly what I needed to read, so again another thank you. Love LOVE your photo of the tree at autumn time. Renee
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely perfect and I suspect earnest. We have only received a minor portion of winter, whereas you have endured the lion's share. I'm guessing "amused" left the building months ago.
ReplyDeleteThis photo is hilarious. I think just about everyone I know would echo that sentiment, and would probably look just about that disgusted, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd we hear from family that you may have even more on Monday.... winter does seem to be sticking around

You know what's great about this winter....your sense of humor is out in full force. Hey if you can't escape winter you may as well make fun of it. Loved this photo and the lines from the Wizard of Oz.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good photo though. It's made for pretty skies too.
