A roadmap to moving on...

Got myself a one-way ticket outta "Funkytown".  (disclaimer:  this post is full of photos that are not artistic, nor technical, nor probably of any interest to anyone other than moi...or perhaps a stalker).  But it is how I'm navigating myself outta da Funk.  It's working, which is quite amazing since I'm horrible at finding my way outta pretty much anything without a GPS or Siri...

1.  Took some of the weight off.  Chopped off about 4 inches.  I feel lighter.  Plus, it's MUCH cheaper than a face lift.  How to get out of Funkytown?  Get rid of some clutter, even if it is on my head.

"Stupid"
Iphone

Stupid lighting, stupid lack of time, stupid Iphone, stupid bathtub in the background that has morphed into my closet lately. It's all I got folks, just me being stupid...but with shorter hair.

2.  But then I decided the cut wasn't enough, and I went back the next day for some RED.  It's just hair, right?!?  Remember what I said about it's MUCH cheaper than a face lift?  Well...the price gap isn't as wide now.  Sure cure for da Funks?  CHANGE.  A red-headed 'tude might help too.

3.  On the way home from the salon I followed this car.

"Male Drivers!"

No one wants a laughing fool in Funkytown...it ticks off the other residents.  Why did this make me literally "LOL"?

a.  I thought if I had THAT license plate on MY car...I am 100% confident I could get out of 100% of my taxi duties with Thing #3 due to her sheer embarrassment.  Double win for moi.  More free time AND I get to mortify one of my Things.

b.  When I finally saw who had the self-confidence to drive around with this license plate...it was a 50-something year old GUY!

4.  Did I tell ya what a great Better Half I have?   He knows I've been in da Funk, and brought me some "sunshine".

"You Are My Sunshine"
Iphone

And if that wasn't enough.  He brought tulips for Thing #3 because he wanted to see a smile on her "two lips".  And be brought roses for the Madre'...because her name is "Rosie".  As if flowers weren't enough, the thought BEHIND them was even better.  How to get out of Funkytown? By following someone who knows the way.

5.  Hmmmm.....

"Where in the World?"
Iphone

My mind is spinning, the Better Half should be afraid.  VERY afraid.  I might have to buy him carnations as it will be the only flower we can afford if my "mind spinning" pans out.  Get rid of da Funks by planning and travelling to a different place.  A couple of possibilities in the works.

Doesn't HAVE to be a long and winding road. Gotta move on. One way ticket outta Funkytown folks.

Day #21.  November 21st - I am so grateful for a family that puts up with my occassional trips to Funkytown, and doesn't kick me out of the house as a result.

Day #22.  November 22nd - Thank you Thing #3 for being YOU.  I just feel I should say this now...BEFORE we go dress shopping tonight.

Here's where I'm linking up today ..."The Party's On"

Please join me on Sundays for Song-ography.
This week's song title is Martina McBride's "Blessed".

  5. You look fantastic! A new hair look can do wonders for my outlook, too. And your hubby is so sweet to brighten both you and your daughter with flowers.

Having "1HOTMOM" on the license plate really raises the expectations, doesn't it? :-)

  6. Love the new hair colour. I do mine myself.... I am not keen on the gray that was starting to make an appearance

  16. Oh I love your shorter hair style, It's "sassy" and cute. The red is fun too but I don't think I'd pull that off quite as well as you do.
What lovely flowers everyone received. - I can't have fresh flowers in the house as the kitties tend to eat them.

  17. That's a great haircut, you look gorgeous! <3 I'd love a license plate like that but I would most likely not wear it. :))

  18. I LOVE your new hair - you are gorgeous!

I'm glad you're out of your funk, and I look forward to hearing where this trip you're planning will take you to! Have a great weekend, Kathy.

  19. Absolutely LOVE the hair - both cut and color. I'm guessing the 50 something male (might) be driving his better half's vehicle - or one very hot/brave/empowered/he-mom. Must say, the locations on your globe would pull you out of a funk in short order.

  20. You are an absolute doll!! Love the Hair..

  21. Yeah, not so sure I'd be brave enough to drive around with that license plate either, but a man? I'll bet he forgot that what the plates said when he got behind the wheel, LOL!

  22. I love the hair! There's just something about this time of year that leaves me stranded in funkytown too. For some reason, this year is worse. Hope you get your ticket out!
