Believe me, it does not go unnoticed or unappreciated that one day I can be at the most fabulous Italian cheese store in center city Philly, and the next day while heading to the deli to get a Philly hoagie this is what I see when I look out my car window...
"The Gift of Ordinary"
Bucks County, PA
I love living where I have the best of both worlds. I am thankful I have a camera to have proof that I live in the best of both worlds. I sometimes need a reminder. Yesterday I went in search of a hoagie at the deli. Instead, I found a lonely wagon taking in the view from a hillside. Never got the hoagie. But sometimes you find even BETTER things when you aren't looking for them.
The gift of an ordinary day...it's worth celebrating.
Day #19. November 19th - I am thankful that after 30-something years...I finally live in a place that I feel is "home".
Day #20. November 20th - I am grateful for the gift of an ordinary day.
Here's where I'm linking up today ..."The Party's On"

Such a great shot! Love the photos that call me to linger and invent a story to go with them!
ReplyDeleteYes like "this family went to Wawa in 1849 for a hoagie...and never made it back" :)

Yep I am completely with you on this, one of the things I LOVE about your part of the world is that lovely urban pot with the rural quiet world around it. I think it is part of what makes Philly such a cool city

That is such a gorgeous shot, and it is a wonderful thing to have the best of both worlds so to speak. I sort of feel like that living in dallas... it is such a short time to be out of the city in to the "boondocks"... which is lovely ranches etc.
ReplyDeleteYes, the detours are usually the best part of the day! I love this wagon and the simplicity of your photo.
ReplyDeleteWhile you are lucky to find such great subjects, it is your talented eye that captures it in perfect framing and perspective...really great! Have a wonder filled week! http://lauriekazmierczak.com/amazing-grace/http://lauriekazmierczak.com/amazing-grace/
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely better than a hoagie.
ReplyDeleteThe photo is amazing! I wonder what the story is behind that lonely looking wagon? You captured the starkness of the scene so well.
ReplyDeleteI think photos do remind us of the ordinary, of the beauty that we found right there, right then.
Gorgeous!! I loved that from living in S. Jersey - fields and farms, beach and ocean, or city all right there!
ReplyDeleteGreat eye.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! So simple and so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great shot. I have the best of the country where I'm at, but I sometimes thing it would be fun to wander through a city and try and photograph the streets and urban jungle. I don't get that.
ReplyDelete"The gift of an ordinary day...it's worth celebrating." LOVE THIS QUOTE!!! great shot Kathy. you can get a hogie any ole day!
