Ironic how a song I chose last week simply because I was kinda amped about my whole recent Rod Stewart concert experience...took on a whole new, more personal, meaning in just seven little ol' days. It took God 6 days to create the world, and on the 7th he rested. Apparently it took moi 6 days to create a new outlook on a few things, and on the 7th day I decided to be surrounded by sunshine and happiness as a result. Because the lyrics hit home for me, so did my camera...
"Forever Young"
Self Portrait
Bowman's Hill
Bucks County, Pennsylvania
"May the good lord be with you
Down every road you choose.
And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when you're far from home.
And may you grow to be proud,
dignified and true.
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you.
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever Young."
-Forever Young (Rod Stewart)
Oh yeah, another thing I did in the last 7 days is I created a Facebook page for my blog. So, if you are a Facebook-er please stop on by "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out" - Facebook and "like" me if you would "like" to see my blog posts (and some additional photography that doesn't make it to my blog) show up on your Facebook news feed when posts are made. Shout out to Tamar at "Random-sity", and Kim at "Little by Little" for helping guide me throughout the process. You know, learning new stuff helps keep ya "Forever Young" too!

Drum roll puhleeze for next week's Song-ography song.....
"My Life Would Suck Without You"
Kelly Clarkson
Bend, it shape it anyway you want to...but what would suck if it wasn't in YOUR life? Can't wait to see your photography and creativity next week! In the meantime...looking forward to seeing what "Forever Young" interpretations are linked up THIS week. Thanks to all who join in on Song-graphy, and for those of you who are thinking about it...just do it!
Ahh, you are having such fun. I am wondering if we should read "Everything I Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten" and reabsorb some of the things we've forgotten like how to be spontaneous and fun-loving more of the time. It's good for the spirit and health of the body. Please don't stop blogging. I'd miss your wonderful photography and wit. :)
ReplyDeleteI am very early today ( or rather late ,1am over here) Being surrounded by the people you love, having the privilege to try out new things, traveling etc certainly will help us to stay forever young.

Really nice selfie! Great song. Rod reworked the lyrics but Bob Dylan wrote it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that self portrait!! And this would have been a great song for me to link along with, but I've been out of commission for a couple of days, after taking part in the miracle of birth.. whew. Exhausting and wonderful.
