Song-ography, "The Summer Wind" edition...

"The Summer Wind"
Wildwood, New Jersey

"...like painted kites,
those days and nights
they went flying by.

The world was new,
beneath the blue
umbrella sky."

-Frank Sinatra

Can't wait to see what YOU came up with for Frank Sinatra's "The Summer Wind" this week.  But before you link up, take a look at next week's song title for Song-ography...

"If I Had a Million Dollars"
Bare Naked Ladies

I have to admit, altho I DO know the Bare Naked Ladies (the music group, just to clarify), this song is new to me.  But Molly, at 365 Project, suggested it.  And I have to agree, it could be a good one because I have a gazillion ways I'd spend a million!  On a side note, Molly is here in the Philly area right now visiting from England. I spoke with her a bit on the "telly" last week.  If "I" had a million dollars?  I'd buy a wonderful accent for myself...like Molly's!  Everything sounds better with a cool accent.  And as much as I love my Philly, the Philly accent doesn't make things sound cool...just angrier.  Thanks Molly for the suggestion, and I hope you are having one Gob-smacked of a great time while on THIS side of the pond.

Thanks for joining in!

P.S.  Posting this a bit early today, it's one of those days...bridal shower AND a wedding.  However, the link won't open until it's normal time.

  1. You are the second one with a rollercoaster on the blog today. I like to ride them but not the wooden ones.

    Greetings,
    Filip

  8. Love your photo for the song- it's perfect! I remember an old song about Wildwood (back in the 60's, I think...telling my age here..).
Thanks for hosting! I'm not familiar with next week's song, but will have a look at the lyrics.

  9. Awesome shot! Those old wooden coasters are so nostalgically summer! Even though they now make me feel old when I ride them.

  15. What a cool image-the kite dancing with all it's curls against the backdrop of the curves of the roller coaster. Well done. I'll have to listen a bit the BNL song. If I had a million dollars I'd be some glad I didn't have to go on Survivor to get it. Happy day. Bless you a wedding AND a shower. That just ain't right.
oh P.S., I have a friend from across the pondwho will be visiting me in early September. Look for me to start doing my "bit" with the accent. I just have to avoid becoming "a bit too cheeky by far" when I jump on the cool accent bandwagon. Philly may sound angry, but I don't even want to suggest what a Mainer sounds like. Aaack.

  16. I love the colors in the kite in contrast to the wooden roller coaster. Great angle, too. This was an interesting theme because you can't picture the title (the wind) -- you have to go with something else. I'm loving all the entries! Thanks for hosting us for another fun week!

  20. great pic for summer wind. A fast roller coaster generates its own wind.

  22. Love the comparison of the movement of the kite and the 'waves' of the rollercoaster - but yes, by now I know that you could completely and competently manage something as skilful as this. Also great to view all those entries. Hope you have a good week, Renee.

  23. I was on my way to work this morning. Tuned into my sports radio guys (I know, who does that?!?) And guess what they were playing??!! Yup - ol' blue eyes and Summer Wind...and lamenting the end of the summer. Good thing (?) I was running late - I might have missed it!
