IF I found an extra mil laying around, I'd probably have a heart attack. Therefore the whole question of what I would do with it would be moot. However, given that I don't suffer some sort of euphoria induced health calamity...what would I do? According to their song, The Barenaked Ladies would apparently buy a house, put up a tree fort, with a small fridge, and stock it with pre-wrapped sausage and things. Yes, that could possibly buy my love depending on what the other "things" in that fridge are. But quite honestly, I'd rather be eating things that AREN'T in my own fridge. If I had a million dollars I would hit the road, air, open seas, tracks, pedals...and eat things in other fridges while travelling....ANYWHERE.
Hamilton, New Jersey
(FYI, I would NOT be in New Jersey if I had a million dollars!)
I didn't start REALLY travelling until I was in my mid-forties. Up until that point, my travel consisted mainly of accompanying my Things to various baseball tournaments and swim meets around the country. But once I took my first trip to Germany, I was inflicted with a serious case of Wanderlust, 'vielen dank'. Remedied only by letting the symptoms take hold and dragging me along for the journey. Yep, a million bucks would sure help feed my disease. Of course, I'm thinking one million PRE-tax dollars. Because it is no fun to think about one million minus 33.3% post-tax (thank you Uncle Sam!). However, I could live with THAT too...if pressed.
Can't wait to see how YOU would spend a million dollars. A big shout-out to Molly at "365.Mollysdailykiss" for this week's Song-ography suggestion. Please feel free to post any song you'd like to see here on Song-ography, or send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Before you link up, here is next week's song...
"I Want to Break Free"
I'm trying to select songs where there are many avenues open to interpretation. You can take the title and/or lyrics literally or "break free" and run with them. Looking forward to seeing your creativity. And thanks for linking up to Song-ography!
