Fun is good...

"Did you ever fly a kite in bed?

Did you ever walk with ten cats on your head?

Did you ever milk this kind of cow?
Well, we can do it, we know how.

If you never did you should.
These things are fun...and fun is good!"

--Dr. Seuss
"One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

Sounds simple.  You get a kite.  You get it up in the air.  You sit back in a chair.  Your blood pressure drops.  You relax.  Yep....SOUNDS simple.  But I've never been able to master it.  So I now just take photos of it.

P.S.  Photos taken in Wildwood, New Jersey at the annual Kite Festival.  And you just KNOW there will be more photos to follow.

  2. Fun! I used to love flying kites! Especially at the beach or in a huge pasture w/o trees. Pastures were more problematic as you had to look down for cow pies or you were in for a rather unpleasant (And slippery) kiting experience.

  8. Kites love them! We have one that we bought on vacation to fly on the beach. It's the easiest kite to fly just let it go and it is off.

  9. What fun! I would probably be better somewhat at taking photos of kites rather than flying them. Either I have no wind or there's a gale!

  11. I've always found kite-flying to be rather stressful. Always worried it will get caught in the power lines! Woe is me.

    Gorgeous shots, Kathy!
