"Did you ever fly a kite in bed?
Did you ever walk with ten cats on your head?
Did you ever milk this kind of cow?
Well, we can do it, we know how.
If you never did you should.
These things are fun...and fun is good!"

Sounds simple. You get a kite. You get it up in the air. You sit back in a chair. Your blood pressure drops. You relax. Yep....SOUNDS simple. But I've never been able to master it. So I now just take photos of it.

P.S. Photos taken in Wildwood, New Jersey at the annual Kite Festival. And you just KNOW there will be more photos to follow.
i have a butterfly kite, we take time often to fly it at the beach. off-season only, i don't like the crowds!!
ReplyDeleteFun! I used to love flying kites! Especially at the beach or in a huge pasture w/o trees. Pastures were more problematic as you had to look down for cow pies or you were in for a rather unpleasant (And slippery) kiting experience.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Wildwood kite festival! One of my favorite parts of the boardwalks/beaches in summer is the constant kite flying, ahh memories!
ReplyDeleteI see people flying kites at the beach, I however have never mastered that either. But....put a net in my hand and I can catch some pretty cool stuff! lol Can't wait to see the rest!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, kite festivals are so much fun and pretty to look at. Haven't flown one in years.............and, I mean years.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more pics. :)
Very cool!!! I love flying kites.... My blood pressure spikes only because my kids are always snatching it out of my hand... Boo!
ReplyDeleteKites...never could get them off the ground, but ohh so graceful and fun for some.
ReplyDeleteKites love them! We have one that we bought on vacation to fly on the beach. It's the easiest kite to fly just let it go and it is off.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I would probably be better somewhat at taking photos of kites rather than flying them. Either I have no wind or there's a gale!
ReplyDeleteI love how abstract they look.
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of fun!!
ReplyDeleteI've always found kite-flying to be rather stressful. Always worried it will get caught in the power lines! Woe is me.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots, Kathy!
Pretty photos, yes that must be fun :) This article is full of liberty, I like it;)
ReplyDeleteI just love to fly kites.. Such a wonderful way to let go of all the stresses of life.. Love your photos..
ReplyDeleteHugs~

ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful shots! I've never been able to fly a kite either, but it is fun to watch.
