"What do you see...

"Sign of the Times"
Election Day in the Philly suburbs
(Samsung Galaxy)

Followed this Vietnam vet while en route to grocery shopping yesterday, after I cast my vote.  The election pundits and media kept promoting Pennsylvania as firmly in the Democratic and Hillary camp.  And if history provided any clues, they would be correct to make that assumption.  But it just didn't reflect what I was actually seeing all around me.

"What we do see depends mainly on what we look for.
...In the same field the farmer will notice the crop,
the geologists the fossils,
botanists the flowers,
artists the coloring...
Though we may all look at the same things,
it does not all follow that we should see them."

-John Lubbock

Regardless of for whom we cast our vote yesterday, today we are all viewing our country in a new light. For some it glows brighter, and for some dimmer.  It all depends on what we choose to see.  I'm always going to choose to see the light.

God Bless America.

    1. Tamar...please do not feel I have WON anything, and that really wasn't the point of my post. The point was that we all "see" things thru our particular viewpoints and interests. No viewpoint is right, or wrong..it is only our own. It was with trepidation that I placed my vote. I had to set aside the personalities of BOTH candidates because I don't like EITHER of them. They BOTH scare me. Therefore I voted ONLY on traditional party platforms. I don't feel good about it. But for ME...it was my only choice. As for you posts making me "hate" you! PUHLEEZE...I love listening to the viewpoints of others and often find aspects I totally agree with. Yours were done politely and with respect. What's to "hate" about that? :)

  2. I've never been as shocked or discouraged to wake up and realize who our president elect was. The entire election process was a disappointment - we seem to have no candidate worthy to run our country. But as little as I like either candidate... and as much as I dislike Trump... I will pray for our country and for our president.

  3. There was no way possible I could have voted for HC. Mr. Trump will do the very best he can but, boy, what a terrible mess he has been voted into...I don't think any one man can clean up all the messes, but hopefully, Trump can at least get a good start on it.
Yes, we all do look at things differently...and when it is sooo plain to me, it's hard to understand how others view things...
this is such a good post.
