"Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before the dawn?
Or the quiet and calm just as a storm ends?
Or perhaps you know the silence when you haven't the answer to a question you've been asked,
or the hush of a country road at night,
or the expectant pause of a room full of people when someone is about to speak...
"After the Door Closes"
...or, most beautiful of all
the moment after the door closes and you're all alone in the whole house?
Each one is different you know,
and all very beautiful if you listen carefully."

ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo Kathy, and really love that quote. Very thought provoking
ReplyDeleteI love the crisp silence immediately after a heavy snow and before the shovels come out. Love the jar garland and great b/w edit.
ReplyDeleteJust Beautiful words and image.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the quiet...I love to hear the rushing blood in my ears! This photo is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteHow I loved the quiet moments when the children left for school , the dogs in their baskets and I had the house for me , listening to the silence. Bliss. With only one child still at home it is almost too quiet.
ReplyDeleteLOVE...LOVE...LOVE!!! I get plenty of quiet since I'm 'home alone' most days.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo! But what is this 'silence' you speak of? With a three and four year old at home, it is only a distant memory!
ReplyDeleteYes, silence can be golden at times. But sometimes, I realize that too many quiet days are ahead and try to embrace the noise. I know I'll come to appreciate the days ahead when I get there.
ReplyDeleteYes, I enjoy sounds of silence!
