"Inside a barn is a whole universe...

...with its own time zone and climate and ecosystem,
a shadowy world of swirling dust illuminated in tiger stripes by light shining through the cracks through the boards.
Old leather tack, lengths of chain, rope and baling twine dangled from the rafters and draped over side railings.
Generations of pocketknives lay lost in the layers of detritus on the floor."

Kind of the perfect place for a wedding.  One a free spirit, the other...hmmmm, I'm not quite ready to make a permanent classification yet.  But from the look of the day, I'm thinking he looks mighty comfy in the "laid back" camp.

A big red barn.  In Connecticut.  On a Christmas tree farm.  A beautiful May day.  My nephew and new niece.

Beautiful little touches abound.  The personal stamp of the Bride.  No bridesmaids.  No groomsmen.  They walked together down the aisle.  Altho, there wasn't really an "aisle".  It was more a hand-in-hand stroll from the barn to the officiant.  And we stood around them, enveloping them with our presence, support and love.  Our family has had four wedding celebrations of cousins in the last year.  All four completely different in style. All four unique to the individuals.  All four just perfect.

The perfect way to spend time with family, many of whom we do not see nearly often enough. Celebrating.  Catching up.  Reminiscing.  Laughing.

All of our hearts were gathered in the right place last weekend.  It just happened to be in big red barn in Connecticut.  And it was downright perfect.

Here's where I "link up" today

    1. Kim, totally kicking myself for not wanting to be burdened with my "Big Girl Camera". Left it behind at the hotel.
