"Good King Wenceslas...

"Good King Wenceslas looked out
on the feast of Stephen.
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel.
When a poor man came in sight
Gath'ring winter fuel."

If I wasn't in the Christmas spirit before touching down in Prague, then I definitely had no excuse after strolling the Charles Bridge and looking around to find out from where I was hearing the strains of "Good King Wenceslas" that was filling the air.

There atop the Charles Bridge Towers.  Not 10 pipers piping, but a brass quartet a blowing.  "Good King Wenceslas".  The patron saint of the Czech Republic, and a darn good Christmas song too.   Throw in the fact that I was standing in the heart of the Czech Republic in Prague...well...and her heart grew three sizes that day.

Guaranteed to put the spirit in the old yule tide.  I might have even been motivated to do a bit of Christmas shopping.  Yeah, it was for me.  And yeah, it's the only Christmas shopping I've done so far.

Welcome Christmas, bring your cheer.  Fa-la-la-la-la.

  7. As I scrolled through these photos, I just kept repeating, "Wow" as each one was revealed. Not very profound, but sincere. It must be an amazing place to visit any time of the year, but especially now.
