April showers...

...of the marital kind, bring a July wedding.  Caution ahead:  mucho photos of the 'happy' variety.

"The Greatest of These is Love"

It's not how I ever envisioned planning a shower for my daughter (not to mention a wedding).  But Thing #2 has chosen to lay down roots in another city, Cincinnati.  Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike Ohio? Limitations abound.  Chiefly time.  Visits are rare, and taken advantage of FULLY.  We have become adept at "power planning". TGFT (Thank God for Texting).  Thing #2 is a high school chemistry teacher.  Which means lots gets accomplished via text, between class changes, breaks, and the Periodic Table.

April Showers get accomplished with helping hands...

And sweets.  MOST of which actually made it to the shower.  Which means, I can still fit into the dress that I still haven't bought...

Some sparkle...

Add in some poseys...

Food, drink, and a ham (in no particular order)...

"The Ham Stands Alone"
Thing #1

Thank God for a Mom-Mom who sews (shout out to the Madre'!) and for putting up with AND creating all my brilliant ideas.  I keep telling her we'd make an amaaaazing Etsy Shop.  The 76-year-old is apparently too busy for my business acumen...

Don't forget the outdoor (emphasis on the OUTdoor) cigar lounge...

And while we're thanking God, kudos for the abundant sunshine and smiles all around...

"The Fam"
(Thank you Uncle Jim for taking temporary command of my camera.  NOW GIVE IT BACK!)

And if that isn't enough, presents for the Soon-to-Be's...

"I'm Smiling Even Tho I'm Sharing My Name with a State"

"With Love From Mom-Mom"
(There's that sewing Mom-Mom again!)

Oh yeah, these two too...

"The Soon-to-Be's"
Thing #2 and Thing #2.1

Lots of ingredients, combined via long distance, blended with love.  The perfect kind of April Shower.  On to July.  On to more texting.  I might have to re-check that texting plan.  TGFT.

Here's where I "link up" today.

Please join me on Sundays for Song-ography.
This week's song title is Cat Stevens' "Morning Has Broken".

    1. Thank you Kim. That "white room" we converted from a screened-in porch to a sun-room when we moved in a few years ago. Probably our best investment in our home, as we spend about 99.9% of our time there :)

    1. Heather, I found the vases on a site called "Dot & Bo". They have daily sales that they post. I just looked, and do not see them anymore. But I would think you could easily make the hanging vases if you found the right size vase.
