Song-ography, the 'Turn, Turn, Turn' edition...

"To everything
There is a season,
turn, turn, turn...

...A time to gain, a time to lose.

My Thing #2 is gaining a whole new season of her life.  I am losing a season of mine as it morphs into something different.  Truth is, despite the season...she will always be my little girl, in my heart.   Turn, turn, turn.

...a time to rend, a time to sew.

...a time for love, a time for hate.

So much love where weddings and our children meet.  I do hate I can't freeze this time in our lives.  Altho, I have the next best thing.  My camera.  Sometimes it grants me amazing super powers.  Turn, turn, turn.

...And a time to every purpose, under Heaven."
-Turn, Turn, Turn (Pete Seeger)

Thank you Thing #2 for allowing me to capture, and share a glimpse into, this special mom/daughter time. **Disclaimer:  Thing #2 had total veto power over what was included here.  Translation?  I allowed her role reversal to tell ME "no".  She didn't.   What a year this is.  I get to experience weddings from two different perspectives.  Mom of the bride...soon followed by morphing into mom of the groom with Thing #1.  Seasons just continue to turn, turn, turn.

**********

Perhaps I should have saved this week's post for NEXT week's Song-ography.  It would most def fit the criteria for both songs.  But, I'm thinking I will be able to find something else I can be "Happy" about...

"Happy"
Pharrell Williams

My Thing #3 HATES this song.  It kinda makes me happy thinking I now have a reason to sing this all week and annoy her to no end.  A mom's gotta do, what a mom's gotta do.  I'm happy already.

Thanks for joining in at Song-ography!  Please take some time to visit the linked up blogs and be amazed by the awesome-ness.  It will make you happy...fer sure!

P.S.  You can now find me on Facebook. Please hop on over to You'll Shoot Your Eye Out and give me a "like".

  12. Oh - family wedding time. I am still reveling in our son's wedding from last fall. The "feel good" of that time is still lingering in my heart & soul. Cherish the moments & yes, the camera is a lovely way to bring those moments right back to the forefront of our minds.
Beautiful post dear friend, so loving & so heartfelt.

And, how blessed is your mother to have a beautiful daughter who includes her in the nitty gritty of it all. You are a beutiful bride and your new life with bring new radiance into and already bright future. Your post is ideal and I agree, you could repeat it next week and it would still be perfect. Everything just falls into place at times like this ... congratulations, Kathy ... Will you be changing the McB on your blog? :)

  19. What a memorable time! I know because my daughter got married 4 weeks ago. I couldn't show photos of the fitting because she didn't want her fiance to see her dress before the wedding :) This dress looks beautiful, with its generous skirt of lace. Your daughter's expression is great. Kind of sums up wedding planning emotion. Enjoy every minute of your family's weddings! Such a FUN time!

  25. Oh Kathy, thank you (and to your daughter as well) for these glimpses of this beautiful beautiful dress, look at that gorgeous lace, so classic. I know you're going to be so busy on the day but if you can manage these shots at a fitting, I can't wait to see one or two from the scenes of the day. It must be a little bit of an out of body experience being a part of all these wedding plans with your little people. Renee
