Song-ography, the "Hazy Shade of Winter" edition...

leaves are brown

I shall return to "where I stand" for my Spring and Summer changing scenery...I am sooo ready for Mother Nature to weave some new tapestry for me!

**********

Lest you think I'm organized or have any sort of "plan" for Song-ography...let me disillusion you a bit.  Just a couple hours ago I was sitting in a parking lot waiting for Thing #3 to emerge from a school function.  While killing time, a song came on the radio that totally caught my attention.  I had never heard it before.  When I got I did a little research on the song.  It was written to help generate awareness for an organization called "Newtown Kindness".  An organization that promotes kindness in children, started by the family of one of the children killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting.  The beginning of the video includes a bit of background into the song.  At the 2:22 mark, the song begins.  I hope it strikes a chord with you, as it did with me.  NEXT week's Song-ography prompt...

"Nothing  More"
Alternate Routes

Thank you for joining in at Song-ography.  If you have the time I strongly urge you to visit some of the participants.  Be prepared to be awed.  I always strikes me how many different paths the same song lyrics can take each individual.  Makes me realize I need to open up both my eyes AND my mind more.  Looking forward to stopping by each of your blogs myself!

P.S.  You can now find me on Facebook. Please hop on over to You'll Shoot Your Eye Out and give me a "like".

  1. Both of these are beautiful!
I like the quiet and introspective of a foggy day so that first one really appeals to me.
As always, thank you for being the gracious hostess!

  8. How cool to have such a special tree to photograph in the different seasons. The Fall one is vey peaceful looking. Strange as it sounds considering I don't care for winter I really like the Winter shot, very serene and calm.

  9. I have a tree - well, I guess the neighborhood has 'this' tree - but it is one that has made it into my pictures over the years - from when it was no taller than me through stages of its growth and in every sort of season. You have inspired me to explore. Your tree is handsome in both seasons.

Wow - next week's song is powerful, especially taking into account the source and purpose. Thank you for turning us onto it - along with all the melodies you remind us of week in and week out. Thanks Kathy.

  14. Thank your for the reminder of what anything looks like without snow! I like that you have the same subject for 2 different season's photos. Can't wait to see Spring & Summer. So many times I have thought to do this, but I get sidetracked.
