Song-ography, the "Celebrate Me Home" edition...

"Home for the holidays,
I believe I've missed each and every face.
Come on and play my music,
Let's turn on the love light in the place."

-Celebrate Me Home (Kenny Loggins)

"Turn on the Love Light"

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle,
and the life of the candle will not be shortened.
Happiness never decreases by being shared."

-Buddha

"Illuminate"

"Just as one candle lights another,
and can light thousands of other candles,
so one heart illuminates another heart and can illuminate thousands of other hearts."

-Leo Tolstoy

"Celebrate Me Home"

"Travelling is all very well if you can get home at night.
I would be willing to go around the world if I came back in time to light the candles
and set the table for supper.
I can not conceivably influence the world's destiny,
but I can make my own life more worthwhile if I can give some help to some people;
that is not vital to all the world's problems and yet I think if everyone did just that,
we might see quite a world in our time!"

-Gladys Taber

**********

Hoping everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and/or regular week...and you found some way to celebrate what "home" means to you.  As for moi?  I'm still cleaning up the remains and prepping for the onslaught of Christmas decorating and preparations that will soon get under way now that Thanksgiving is over.  BUT, I'm not quite ready to commit to Christmas here at Song-ography...yet.  Heck, I'm still eating my Thanksgiving leftovers. So how about an "off the beaten" path kinda song before we delve in to the holiday spirit.  Next week's song is...

"Big Yellow Taxi"
Counting Crowes

As always, thanks for joining in on Song-ography.  I am so enjoying seeing what you all bring my way each week, and I look forward to visiting your blogs.

P.S.  You can now find me on Facebook. Please hop on over to You'll Shoot Your Eye Out and give me a "like".

  1. Oh those candles are so lovely. They just have such a cozy, warm, "homey" feel about them. I love the holidays and being home for them is the best part.

  4. Candles do welcome you in. I am clinging to the computer to avoid the next step of pulling out the Christmas boxes and stuff - ugh! The person who designs an umbrella tree with unbreakable keepsakes will, in my opinion, be worthy of a Nobel prize of mammoth proportions.

  10. This is beautiful. And I really needed those quotes today. I find myself in a 'one day at a time' mode...and fighting to find anything that resembles the Christmas spirit. We'll start decorating next weekend...In the mean time, I'm going to hold on to that thought...of giving my help to a few people. Hugs. {and sorry to be so "late" to the party two weeks in a row!}
