Song-ography, the "Pink" edition...

"Pink, it's my newest obsession
Pink, it's not even a question,
Pink, on the lips of your lover
'Cause Pink is the love you discover."

-Aerosmith, Pink

"Pink Bubblegum"
(Water Color Texture)

I knew right away what I wanted to do for Song-ography and Aerosmith's "Pink".  Oh, it SHOULD have been soooo easy. Oh, it was soooo NOT. Blow a bubble, take a photo using my timer (note to self #1, I NEED a remote for my timer!).  Epic fail.  And THIS is why I never got the laundry done, the floors cleaned, or even got to watch "General Hospital" that day...because I was blowing bubbles.  I apparently need massive self improvement in my coordination, bubblegum blowing abilities, and time management skills.  A couple hundred shots later I had one that I could work with, IF I got creative with it.  Not exactly what I was going for, but my cheeks were shot. Many hours later, after driving Thing #3 and a friend into the city for a concert and returning home, I looked in the rearview mirror.  Lo and behold smashed gum from one of my many burst bubblegum bubbles still on my face! Note to self #2...never trust my family (or their friends!) to clue me in.

Ya gotta laugh.  Like good ole' Audrey said...

"I believe in pink.
I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.
I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.
I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.
I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.
I believe that tomorrow is another day,
and I believe in miracles."

-Audrey Hepburn

Aerosmith and Audrey make for a strange pair of bedfellows.  But apparently Pink is a powerful tie that binds.

Next week's Song-ography song is...

"Two of Us"
Aimee Mann

"Two of Us" is a Beatles song, but in a rare happening...I actually like this version from the Movie "Sam I Am" better.  Probably sacrilegious on my part to put someone above the Beatles, but sometimes ya gotta live on the edge.  Hope this song inspires your creativity.

Thanks for joining in on Song-ography this week!  Can't wait to visit your sites to see what you've posted.

  2. This is totally funny Kathy! BUT, however long it took you, you definitely got a super result. Looks like you got pretty good with the bubbles too while you were at it. By the way, I think you already have the same lens that I took those flower shots with... a 50 1.4. You do have that don't you? I also though may have taken that one with my 105.... But definitely the flower was the 50mm. set at 1.4. Have an awesome week

  4. I remember in my younger days getting bubble gum stuck in my hair after blowing bubbles bigger than my face. It used to be so easy! I guess I use up all of my hot air in other ways now. Just ask my family! What a fun photo. At least you got your workout in while photographing.

  6. Love it!!! You're too funny!

I never got a bubble that big and no longer chew gum, but let my class chew (quietly) as a way to help them stay focused!

    1. I totally love that video...it's "weird"...but it just cracks me up. And the song I love for the same reasons :). Although, as I visit everyone's blogs I am finding how "divisive" this color of PINK seems to be! Haha. Have to say this is surprising me. But it's interesting to learn

  13. Hope your face is recovered from all that bubble blowing! I do really like the photo you ended up with. I would never have guessed you had so many attempts to get it. I love the Audrey poem. She was a classic beautiful person, outside and inside. Thanks for hosting another fun one. This was a tough one for me, but turned out to be a nice surprise that fall gives us so many pink flowers. So now I'll be on the lookout. All good!
