Scavenger Hunt Sunday (6/02/13)...

I've been laying low the past few Scavenger Hunt Sundays.  Unmotivated.  Not sure if I have run my course with the link up, or I just needed a breather.  Still haven't come to a verdict on that yet.  If anyone has a Sunday link up they would like to recommend, I'm all ears.  But for this week?  I'm back because the prompts were probably some of my all-time favorites:

Photographer's Choice, Photographer's Choice, Photographer's Choice, Photographer's Choice, and...Photographer's Choice.

It was a no-brainer.  And I just don't get too many of those in my life lately to squander.

I went to the Philadelphia Phillies game Friday night.  Perhaps the prompts SHOULD have been:  Ugh, Ugh, Ugh, Ugh, and Ugh.  Because I could have fulfilled THOSE easily too!  All I have to say to the Phillies is "You're KILLIN' me Smalls!" (haven't seen Sandlot?).  Since what was happening ON the field was literally causing a vein to bulge from my temple, I tried focusing on OTHER things to save both my sanity (which meant the Better Half's sanity was spared too), like...

1.  Photographer's Choice

"The Heat is On"
Platt Bridge
Philadelphia, PA

...my car ride to the stadium.  A June Friday afternoon in Philly?  Means rush hour AND shore traffic.  Double whammy.  Been wanting to play around with my shutter speed while driving across the Platt Bridge for awhile now.  But I thought it best to wait to wait for an opportunity where I was actually in the passenger's seat.  I didn't bother straightening the capture...I felt the tilt added to the chaos that is otherwise known as Philly traffic.

2.  Photographer's Choice

"Don't Dull My Sparkle"
Citizen's Bank Park
Philadelphia, PA

...Mr. Sparkles.  There really is just no explanation or excuse.  Which is WHY I had to ignore Thing #3's pleas of "OMG I can't BELIEVE you are going to take his picture!"  As far as MY thoughts?  I was just praying the "Tornado" wasn't sitting next to us.

3.  Photographer's Choice

"The Bank"

...the benefits of advertising.   Made me wonder if the Geico Gecko is a lefty, and if he might be a better option than Cole Hamels pitching.  Plus, he guarantees to "save money"... we could probably lower the payroll with him in the line up.

4.  Photographer's Choice

"Phillie Phanatic"
Citizen's Bank Park

...the best mascot everrrrrrrrrr.  Yep, you're looking at the only GOOD thing happening ON the diamond in Philly these days.

5.  Photographer's Choice

"I Give Up!"
Citizen's Bank Park

...this little guy sitting in front of me.  Seriously dude, I feel your pain.

And I'd like to set the record straight.  Pretty much everything you've heard about us Philly fans is...TRUE.  Because sometimes, you just gotta boo.  Seriously...you HAVE to.  Really.

  1. You know I love these! That last shot...it is how we feel when these teams we love don't behave! Lots of season left!!

  2. I can't offer any advice - well I can, just keep doing what you're doing. Your photos are a continual pleasure to look at as well as a source of motivation and inspiration to look at. But only because they come from within though - sometimes the within talks, and sometimes it doesn't.

  3. I'm sorry - but I am so Laughing Out Loud and I suspect it is sorta at the price of your fan related pain. The baby shot, your words - hilarious! Great road shot by the way.

I've been in the same rowboat about creativity, the recent word prompts, and motivation. In my case, I'm beginning to think it is more to do with all the other crap in life sucking the air out of my creative balloon. In your case - perhaps it's the Phillies. (though I still see a lot of creativity in your posts)

  4. Love your shots. Yes, this week was easy...step up to my page and soak in a little Tuscany. Sitting in rainy Vienna (not complaining) just longing for some warm sun and good wine.

That Gecko certainly gets around doesn't he. - Absolutely adored the last shot of the little guy in front of you and thought your bridge shot was really cool looking.
