Verklempt...

The week that was...

Not sure who looks more distraught.  The sculpture vs. Thing #2 after a couple of days of wedding venue visitations.  Thing #2 flew in from Cincy for the choices.  And the decisions.  And the phone calls to the fiance'.  Three days.  Eight scheduled appointments.  Two cancelled to not further confuse the issue.  Power shopping...only fit for the fittest.  But that's how it has to be when you are planning a wedding and the bride-to-be lives out of state.

What to do?  What to do?  Kinda makes me glad I was informed by my dad where my wedding was going to take place thirty-one years ago. It's just the beginning.  I am having fun.  And so is Thing #2 (she just doesn't realize it yet).

  1. Well, I'm sorry i'm so far away from my daughter to not have been able to partake in the wedding venue frenzy! I'm glad ours is over and was completely wonderful...can't wait to be updated on the wedding plans....

    1. Thing #2 lives in Cincy. So that is why the decisions are being crammed in during her quick visit home.

  2. Oh, my. My husband and I had a very small ceremony, so I can only imagine all the decisions to be made for a larger affair. I hope it does become enjoyable for all involved.

    1. Oh it IS enjoyable now...just in an "overwhelming" sort of way :). Thing #2 lives in a different state...so it's sort of like "power shopping" while she is home visiting, haha.

  3. "Thing 2" Hehehehe

Weddings are hard work - - - sometimes I think it would be easier if they eloped. (I'm speaking as the mom of 2 married daughters and one married son - - - one single son left to go that path.)

  12. My "Thing One" planned her own and went to Vegas. We all had a great time. "Thing Two" planned her own (see a pattern here) and had her wedding at our Renaissance Fair. That was fun too. I give you lots of bows for doing the planning and arranging yourself.
