"A Vintage Affair"
New Hope, PA
"What I really love about them is the fact that they contain some one's personal history.
I find myself wondering about their lives.
I can never look at a garment without thinking about the woman who owned it.
How old was she?
Did she work?
Was she married?
Was she happy?
When you buy a piece of vintage clothing you're not just buying the fabric and the thread,
you 're buying a piece of some one's past."

This is lovely Kathy! and yes, it is very interesting to think about the lives of these people. I have my great grandmothers wedding dress and her tiny wedding shoes, and always wonder so much about her life when I see it. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThat's so true! I just love the quotes you find :o)
ReplyDeleteLovely post Kathy. Reminds me of a quote I read once that said "I like to look at people and think....somebody loves them." I suppose these things help us to be more compassionate human beings.
ReplyDeleteSo so true and such a stunning picture!!
ReplyDeleteThe photo is great, and the quote goes with it beautifully. I wonder about the people who wore the clothes, too. So much history.
ReplyDeleteYou captured a time, now it's up to us to fill in the place and circumstances and people...great black and white shot!
ReplyDeleteI love your quote!!! I buy a lot of vintage...more home goods rather than clothing, but I love feeling the history of each object!!!
ReplyDeleteBreath-taking photography and gorgeous piece of clothing... I love it, love it, love it!
