Scavenger Hunt Sunday (July 8, 2012)...

Life sure is getting in the way of my posting here lately.  Hate when that happens.  But it looks like the months of July and August are going to continue to be a whirlwind.  Hoping the whirlwind blows some great photo ops my way tho.  Missed last week's Scavenger Hunt Sunday due to travel...and boy did I feel the absence.  Not to mention the GUILT. Wasn't gonna let that happen again this Sunday.  This week took me to Atlantic City to see James Taylor in concert.  Boy do I love JT.  The effortless vocals, the poetic lyrics, the quick wit and sense of humor.  I barely took notice of James Dean the entire visit, yes I am fickle that way.  Sweet Baby James...forgive me please.

So here we go, the Atlantic City edition of Scavenger Hunt.  This week's prompts are:  Patriotic, View from Above, Mosaic, Something tiny, and Vibrant.

1.  Patriotic

"Born in the U.S.A."
(self portrait project #24)

Thanks for the tutorial Ashley.  As much as I wish I was Italian...I'm proud to bleed red, white and blue.

Tutorial Tuesday

2.  View from above

"Looking Down"

A view from above in the new Revel Resort and Casino in Atlantic City.  Did you know that they don't really appreciate cameras in the casino?  Don't ask me how I know that.  But I wound up in the atrium WITH James Dean.

3.  Mosaic

Mosaic - a picture or pattern made out of small pieces of wood, glass, etc.  Forgive me, but it was 102 freakin' degrees in Atlantic City and I saw a mosaic when I looked up.  Maybe I mean I saw a mirage.  MAYBE I saw a frozen Mango Margarita waiting for me.

4.  Something tiny

I didn't even notice the tiny pink and white chocolate shavings at first...I was totally enthralled with the strawberries.  And I don't like to share...just sayin'.

5.  Vibrant

"Catching Some Rays"

Prized possessions. An ocean of vibrant blue EMPTY lounge chairs reflecting in the windows at the Revel Resort.  Luckily I caught this shot before the "chair stalkers" arrived and threw towels on all the loungers to claim stake for the day.

It was an interesting few days.  I had never experienced staying at a hotel so close to it's grand opening.  Which means...altho beautiful it had A LOT of kinks to work out.  Add to that, the fact that Kayne West was appearing at the resort.  I know this comes as a shock but I don't really fit into the Kayne and Kim Kardashian demographic.  Actually, I'm not even sure I fit into the the entire concept of a casino demographic anymore.  I get tired waaaaaaaay too early.  And my bathing suit wasn't skimpy enough.  Oh yeah, and I don't really gamble.  Why was I even there?  Oh yeah....JT :)

Happy Sunday...

  8. Wow what a great set. Hard to pick favorites this week.
I am in awe of your View From Above Shot. - By the way I was in AC once too and was politely told that pictures were not allowed (in a shopping mall on the Board Walk of all places and again in the Casino)
    Mosaic - Another stunning shot...what a view!

  16. Sounds like you had a great time despite the newly opened hotel, the heat, no cameras in the casino, etc. That sure was a lot to deal with. Glad the show was just right! Now, do you need a vacation from the vacation??? :) And, wouldn't those lounge chairs near the window be extra hot from the reflections of the sun as well as the pool??? OHHH, can we say SUNBURN to the max.
