Scavenger Hunt Sunday (3/4/12)...

Well, I just want to start off by saying some weeks ya have it...and other weeks ya don't.  This was one of those "Scavenger Hunt Sunday" weeks where I just wasn't feeling the love.  I started off good, with my "show me your style" prompt...and it went downhill from there.  Should have figured that not much was going to measure up to playing around with my shoes!  Oh well. I'm just going to take my satisfaction from knowing that I did wind up shooting something for each prompt within the confines of the last week...and just leave it at that.  Kind of feels sour in my mouth, like rationalizing "But mom, I got a C and PASSED!".

If you get the chance, please stop over at Ashley's "Ramblings and Photos" to see some amazing photographers who didn't get bogged down in their shoe closet...yep, I have a closet for my shoes.  Don't judge!  :)

1.  Mismatch

Some day I WILL learn to use chopsticks without fear of shooting something across the room!  Until then, I'm fork bound.

2.  Routine

My morning routine is the gym, then coffee in my sun room...my favorite time of the day.

3.  Music

Not sure there is any music better than the Beatle's "Abbey Road"...on vinyl, it's natural habitat.

4.  Technology

Cell phones have made the standard pay phone a technological dinosaur good for political messages and artwork.  Do you think they meant "War FARE"?

5.  Show Me Your Style

What's my style?  Well, depends on the day.  But I do love my shoes regardless of what day it is...especially my shiny patent leather pumps.  Just tell me how you can't smile looking at all that glimmer!

Sure hoping I feel more inspired with next week's Scavenger Hunt Sunday prompts.  But if I don't, you can just look for me in my shoe closet.

  3. What the heck! These are all the bomb Miss Kathy, especially since I fell off the Scavenger Hunt Sunday wagon this week. I had a couple, but on cruthes, well I just got frustrated. Not everything looks good at standing eye level. And yes, your patent leather line up does make me smile even if I can't walk in them! ; )

  15. The funny but truthful thing is that when I first clicked into your blog , the photos came up before the writing. When I went to make a comment about your wonderful photos I had to refresh, and then I read your text. There's no just 'pass' here- I particularly love your mismatch, routine and your show me your style shot.

  22. Hey Friend....your pics are better than the person who wrote the lead-in said they were ; ) So, OK, great shoes, but I love how that coffee cup turned out and I think your mismatch is super clever. And I'm not judging the shoes closet and I'm sure your not judgin' my lack of one. Have a wonderful day Kathy.

  32. We are in your neck of the woods! I was sharing with my Dad yesterday that you had to explain to the blogging world what Wawa was! Love your photo collection here ~ my favorite is Mismatch. You bring such a great perspective to what you shoot! Also...I would LOVE to know where you got that coffee mug. I'm a sunflower nut, and that's one of the prettiest I've ever seen!

    1. It is a set of mugs I picked up at Home Goods a few years ago. The handle just fits my hand perfectly. It says "Maxcera" on the bottom of the mug and made in Belgium.

  34. You are too hard on yourself - these are all awesome! My daughter would love your shoe closet...we've always called her the shoe queen. The lighting in both your coffee mug and vinyl shots is amazing. And I love your unique take on technology - that's a great capture! Thanks so much for your kind comments about my prompts, and in answer to your question, my daughter goes to George Mason University (Virginia). Have a good Sunday, Kathy! :)

  35. *sigh* This is one of my absolute fave places to visit <3 Great work with your hunt (especially if you felt uninspired! I like next week's prompts...feels like it might be a better week :D). That cup photo is fabulous, and I'm very impressed with your shoes! I don't even own a single pair of those 'fancy' kinds...I was thinking, though, of "showing off" my sneaker collection ;) Heh...maybe not.

I had a crash course in chopstick usage when I lived in China for half a year....MAN, did I have nasty cramps in my hand the first couple of weeks (there were zero forks to be had at the restaurants, and I got tired of people laughing at me when I brought my own...so finally, I just had to bite the bullet and learn to use the darned things!)

  40. This is a tremendous set- I enjoyed every single image. I love the mug- morning is my favorite time of day so I can identify with the sentiment and the photo embodies that great feeling of "new day, new possibilities." I grew up on the Beatles and I really love the angle you chose for that record! I also love your angle on "Technology"-so creative!
