Have you met my BFF...

The Photography Gods sometimes have a wicked sense of humor.  Today's Project 52 prompt is "Cabin Fever".  Now WHY Cabin Fever is considered a negative while Spring Fever is considered a positive, I have no idea.  A fever, is a fever, is a fever....right?  Take two aspirin, drink lots of fluids and play "Words With Friends" til it breaks.  But I do suffer from both Fever's yearly.  And right now, I'm in the midst of the cabin variety.  How DID the Photography Gods forecast that for THIS week?

"Calgon, take me away"
(Self Portrait #10)

So MY cure for what ails ya?  My BFF Rick.  I need to get away.  If not now...I need to PLAN one.  For me, the planning is ALMOST as fun as the actual trip.  And no one helps me more with that than my guy Rick.  Just the sight of Rick and moi together  can make my Better Half break out in a cold sweat manifesting itself in an involuntary death grip on his wallet.  After all, I'm easily influenced and have been known to cave easily to peer pressure.  But in Rick's defense, HE is the one who told me to just buy the "house red" vino in Italy because it is cheap and good...which leaves more Euros for Italian leather shoes, boots and purses.  You'd think the Better Half would give me kudos for attempting to save money, right?   Rick always has my back.

Gotta love a BFF who knows exactly what to do and say to perk you right out of those winter blahs.  Got the travel bug bad....do you think "Cabin Fever" applies to  cruise cabins?

  1. Great post! I totally understand the travel bug as a symptom of the cabin fever. And I think a cruise cabin is a good prescription for it! :-)

  2. Fabulous selfie, and love those stack of books! Cabin and Spring fever, yes to both.....it's been unusually 'gross' for lack of a better word, around here, and busy enough that I can't even seem to make to to my get away place in Galveston only 25 miles from me!!

Although as the winds are over 30 mph right now, I suppose all I need to do is go outside and stand and in no time I will land somewhere on the island! ;)

  4. Oh, yes, Rick! He traveled with us all over Europe. We would say things like, "Did you get Rick?" or "Oh no, I left Rick in the room!" I'm quite sad to be back in the US, traveling in a land where Rick doesn't travel... Love your selfie!

  7. Great interpretation for cabin fever and totally jealous on the vacation thing. My last vacation was August 2009 NINE!!
Cheap good wine is a blessing...as is planning a vaca. So the saying goes, as soon as you decide to go, the vacation begins. I guess your decorating for Christmas is similar-all that planning and decorating ahead.
Good weekend to you my friend. Let me know where you and Rick decide to go with your hubby's wallet.

  15. I think travel counts as a good cure for cabin fever! Sometimes it works even if its just down the block! Lots of books to go through. You'll find the perfect place to cure a case of cabin fever!
