What a difference a day makes...

"Autumn Wonderland"
Philadelphia, PA

So glad I got out to Forbidden Drive for a late afternoon stroll yesterday.  Forbidden? Only because motorized vehicles are forbidden on this pathway along the Wissahickon Creek in Fairmont Park.  I WAS planning on going there today.  What a difference a day makes...it's SNOWING, heavily!!!!

I haven't even gotten the cobwebs brushed off my rake yet...now I need to dust off the shovel....CRAZINESS!

  2. I can remember searching (and finding) for garnets along the Wissahickon, when I was in grade school. Lovely shot.

  6. Love the pine cones. Forbidden Dr was mentioned in an article in the Inquirer this past week. Evidently there are plans to reuse an existing bridge over the Schuylkill as part of the pathway. I hope to visit that one day.

I was at Peace Valley Park trying to get images of the fall colors with the show today. I got a couple of keepers.

Crazy day, we lost power for ~4 hours, roads were a mess!

  7. Love those pics....the snow covered pine cones are beautiful. Well, figure it this way, you can take some snow shots for possible Christmas Cards. I hate to tell you, but it was still beautiful here today. Stay warm, stay safe.

  8. Well, along with no color here I'm sure the only snow I will see is in everyone elses photos. These are all beautiful, and yes a day can make all the difference in the world on so many levels.

On a side note I was excited not only to get to wear jeans to our football game last night but a sweatshirt to top it off! (it had been 94 on Thursday and 54 at the game last night, go figure)
