If you have time I urge you to check out all the other Scavenger Hunt interpretations at Ashley's Ramblings and Photos. And on to the hunt:
1. Abstract
"Autumn Kaleidoscope"
State College, PA
"No wonder I'm dizzy, the world keeps spinning in circles!" - Galileo (kidding!)

2. Fire
I think I finally found me some "bokeh love" (I just have no idea how I did it!). Just my luck that isn't the prompt THIS week! But fire? After burning my fingers on numerous matches while trying to take a photo....I opted to go the candle route.
3. Seeing Faces in Strange/Unexpected Places
Okay you bugger, you scared the bejeezus outta me as I pulled into my garage and looked out my window to see if I was going to clear the garage wall without any mishaps (not that I'm prone to that or anything). You should NOT be hanging out on my window peering in at me checking my driving skills, soooo totally unexpected I could have EASILY hit that wall!!!! And if you think you are gonna win me over just because your colors coordinate so nicely with the coleus in my planters you can just think again! Wait a minute, I think I have my camera here in the car somewhere, don't move....
4. Round
Yeah, yeah, yeah...best laid intentions! It will just take me a few minutes to blow some bubbles and take a photo in the backyard. Do you know how HARD it is to blow bubbles, grab your camera, focus and take a photo while two dogs think those little round things floating around are their new chew toys?!?!!? Let me just tell ya I finally had to resort to plan "B"... shoot my neighbors a nasty look for laughing at me, banish the dogs to the laundry room (after I chased them around the yard to catch them!) , decide to just keep the dang bubble ON the stick instead of going for the beautiful floating bubbles effect, don't breathe, move slooooooowly and shoot quickly. Bubble, bubble toil and trouble...I NEED the equivalent of a photographic sous chef!

6. Star
I love stars. They always remind me to never underestimate your ability to twinkle!
And there ya have it. I had fun with this week's prompts...well, EXCEPT the grasshopper! It literally was a stand-off scene reminiscent of "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" in my garage (hmmmm....no comment on WHO was the UGLY!) Proud to say I outlasted him, ultimately. So happy to have you stop by my blog. I love comments so feel free to leave some. And I want to thank everyone who has been so kind to follow my blog. It truly lifts my spirits whenever I see a new name and face sign up. When I reach 50 followers I'm thinking of having a give-away....how does a beautiful grasshopper with spying capabilities sound?
Enjoy your Sunday!

Wow,I love your abstract! When you look at your photo,it looks like it's moving.
ReplyDeleteYour abstract is fun!
ReplyDeleteI also love your fire shot and appreciate the beautiful bokeh. I had a hard time with that prompt a while back as well!
Great shots this week, Love your abstract photo, it does make you feel dizzy, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteYour Autumn Kaleidoscope has my head spinning, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI love your grasshopper. I first thought you caught it in mid air. It definitely looks that way;) Also love your stars - with the shadow of it as well...
ReplyDeleteFantastic set Kathy, that grasshopper is awesome, I thought you'd caught him mid jump.
ReplyDeleteI love your first soap bubble, the colours and reflections are gorgeous.
Wonderful set this week. Your abstract is great, makes me dizzy just looking at it. And that grasshopper is terrific...funny story!!
ReplyDeleteI might consume some dramamine...very dizzying abstract! Fantastic grasshopper capture! Really fantastic set!
ReplyDeleteI love your entire set . . . but especially the grasshopper and the star. Congrats on the bokeh!
ReplyDeleteLOL you were right. That crazy little hopper got you too. I didn't jump though. I saw him before I got in the car. Love the colors on yours
ReplyDeleteGreat set of hunt photos! OK that grasshopper looks as if he's in mid air with his arms open wide about to embrace his long lost love. That abstract is making me dizzy too but what beautiful colours to get dizzy over and those bubbles are so cool too.
ReplyDeleteI am loving that abstract - it makes me feel dizzy! I just didn't get around to doing the hunt this week - I'm rubbish!
ReplyDeleteI love your abstract, although makes me feel a little vertigo coming on! ha Your grasshopper is way cool the way it looks like it's just suspended or walking on air. And your first shot of round is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI also enjoy the challenge of scavenger hunt.
ReplyDeleteLove you abstract as well as the grasshopper, quick thinking with that shot.
These are great! Love your round and fire shots!!! Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteKathy these are amazing...before reading the text of your bug photo I thought that you had captured him in mid-flight. Your abstract photo is amazing.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your next post.
Ha! Love that grasshopper...looks like he's jumping through the air, pulling some disco move or something! ;) Your abstract is awesome...wish I could keep looking at it, but it was honestly making me so dizzy I started feeling nauseous ("a bit" of an inner ear problem ;D) Loved your soap bubbles, too!
ReplyDeleteYou are really rocking it out - I love your first shot and your round shots.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up. thanks for that. I need laughter. I think maybe you and I would not be permitted to sit together for long. We'd feed off each other too much.
ReplyDeleteYour first shot is amazing and I may have to grab the anti-vertigo meds after viewing that. All your bubbling annoyances (dog, neighbors, etc) were worth it. Amazing reflective image.
that grasshopped would have totally grossed me out too. Good thing I have a 2 car garage...yowee!
I absolutely adore your abstract-so cool!
ReplyDeleteI just love your interpretations this week.. They are all such great shots. I can't even pick a favorite..

ReplyDeleteYour star is very cool... is it metal? your story of trying to capture a pic of the bubble had me laughing, thinking, I've tried that also... but gave up before I could get a bubble shot.
Thanks too for dropping by my blog. Hope to see you again.
The first photo made me dizzy, seriously! But very pretty fall colors, so it's all okay... :)
