"Song-ography, 'If It Doesn't Snow on Christmas'...

"If it doesn't snow on Christmas
How is Santa goin' to use his sleigh
In case of rain, will there be a train
That'll speed him on his way?...

...If it doesn't snow on Christmas
How will Santa get around to us
If he breaks down on his way to town
Will they let him use a bus?"

-If It Doesn't Snow on Christmas (Gene Autry)

Not sure how the old man did it but...it didn't snow.  It rained. And it rained.  And then rained some more. And it was too freakin' warm.  Warm enough that I caved and put the air conditioning on for Christmas, for the first time EVERRRRRR.  Bah humbug.  Whether it was by train, bus, or subway...Philly's SEPTA system didn't let us down.  Come Christmas morning and the appearance of presents 'neath the tree,  it was apparent he made it.  If it doesn't snow on Christmas?  Been there. Done that.  Drying out the umbrella in the garage. Falalalala...la, la, la, la.

Welcome back to another Tuesday and Song-ography.  Where the rules are pretty dang simple:

Song/Lyric + Photo(s) = Song-ography

Because NEXT Tuesday is the first Tuesday of a month (January...YIKES!),  I am giving a prompt for the song.  It's up to you if you want to take up the challenge, or photograph to your own song. Either is acceptable.  Should you choose to accept the challenge, it is...

"This is the New Year"
A Great Big World

Hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  I apologize for being so late in getting around to visit every one's Song-ography link ups last week.  Let's just say there was a bit of a "bug" going round our house that took a big ole' bite out of ALL our stomachs...one, by one, by one, by one, by freakin' one. Needless to say there were no visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads.  Replaced instead by ginger ale and toast.

Dear Santa,

Can I have a do over?

  1. Sorry to hear you had a rainy dreary Christmas. We finally got snow on Christmas Eve. That was just a preview for today's blizzard. Crazy weather!

  2. Love this shot. The consensus here was something seemed to be missing about this year's Christmas - it just didn't feel 'right'. Minus one kid; holiday on a Friday/long weekend; unpacking from one trip mere weeks before packing for another (which might explain why the white shorts survived the winter pack); the white shorts rather than festive sweater. Oh, and the rain, rain, rain. But I'm not complaining - glad we didn't have the stomach virus.

Hope everyone is feeling better to double-down on New Year's celebrations.

  4. I love your picture! Perfection in imperfection. Sorry about the bug, but I'm glad you're over it and able to enjoy presents :) Hah - Christmas Eve we went bike riding, because it was so freakin' warm. And before that, on my way home from grocery shopping, I turned on the ac in my car, too. Weirdest Christmas Eve ever (for the northern hemisphere).
