"Promise me you'll always remember, you're braver than you believe,
stronger than you seem,
and smarter than you think.
But the most important this is,
even if we're apart, I'll always be with you."
-Christopher Robin to Winnie-the-Pooh

ReplyDeleteTouching words, Kath ... The Alzheimer's decease, robbing ones memories ~ must be indescribable psingul for the person and the close family ... Hoping that the research will find a way to stop the development of the decease, setting it stand by for as long as possible. A wonderful photo of your father ... Smitten by his laughter!
ReplyDeleteI bet your Father had a beautiful laugh to go with that smile.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tribute to your dad.. That's a great photo to remember him by.
ReplyDeleteAlzheimers is such a heartbreaking disease. My mother-in-law has it. The other three of our parents are gone, and, in essence, she is gone as well. She sits and colors in coloring books and talking nonsense. My only comfort is that she actually seems happier now that she's long past the stage where she knew something was wrong when she wasn't remember things.
ReplyDeleteA lovely poem and a great tribute to your dad, alzheimers is such an awful disease for everyone involved #LTTL
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post for your dad's memory.
