"Are we there yet?...

"There are no foreign lands,
it is the traveller only who is foreign."

-Robert Louis Stevenson

Regardless of the mode of transportation.  Whether by rail...

"Train Station Morning Rush"
Dresden, Germany

wheel...

"Real Life, Still Life"
Dresden, Germany

or hoofin' it...

"Strolling along the Elbe"
Dresden, Germany

Sometimes you just need to get yourself lost in order to truly understand and discover a city to which you are foreign.  It's one of the things I've come to too forward to while travelling.  To feel disoriented and out of my comfort zone.  To not understand the language, the food, the culture, the customs.  It's like being a little kid all over again.

Travel does my heart good.  And has the ability to refocus my perspective.  A perfect seasonal tune-up.

Here's where I "link up" today.

  12. beautiful shots. gives me big time wanderlust! some of the very best adventures, are the ones you got lost and ended up where you never expected!
I love exploring the local culture when I travel, and one of the only ways to do that is to go off the beaten (tourist) path.

  15. Nice pics, I also love the feeling of being lost and a little disoriented. I do like knowing where I am sleeping that night though. Unfortunately my family does not share my feelings about being lost.

  20. These are really great Kathy...love! And yes, even if that city is in the U.S. and you've never been there. We have had to change our plans because of all the bad weather, and now we are heading west to the grand canyon.
