Song-ography, the 'Hot Fun in the Summertime' edition...

Welcome back to Song-ography on Tuesdays!  Previously known as Song-ography on Sundays.  Oh them summer days.  That meant Song-ography was AWOL on vacay.  Gettin' kids hitched, visiting college campuses, soaking up some rays at the Jersey Shore...yada, yada, yada. More precisely, Atlantic City.  Take a walk on the wild side (I know...different song) under the Boardwalk (yes I know...ANOTHER song).  From some of the people I encountered...I went back, got the Better Half, and proceeded with caution.

"Them summer days...

Hot fun in the summertime...

...hot fun in the summertime"
-Hot Fun in the Summertime (Sly and the Family Stone)

Brilliant sunshine, crowded beaches (we go TO the shore, but once we are THERE we go to the beach...make sense?), lots of sparkle, lots of bokeh, lots of sun spots.  What's not to love?  Okay...maybe those creepy guys who tried getting me to take their photo under the boardwalk. Security puhleeze!

Ahhhh, I missed Song-ography.  What I DIDN'T miss tho was pickin' a dang song for the next week!  So much pressure.  So I'd like to spread the pressure around...if ya have any suggestions, PLEASE feel free to shoot me message or post it in the comments.  After much thought, this is what I decided to go with for NEXT Tuesday...

  1. Hot fun in the summer! Ha, I wish! Summer in E means absolute happiness...summer frocks, sandals, suntan lotion, splashing about in the river... for about a week...if one is lucky. Then, back to the drizzle and wind and, actually yesterday, R said that he wondered if it would get cool enough for an open fire! And, in the meantime, Chloe is telling me that it's 30 degrees in Van and she's at the beach every day. Bah! Humbug!

  3. I am sooooooooo happy that song-ography is back. This is one of my favourite memes. I love the challenge and combinations of music and photography. I hope you have had a lovely summer so far. I am envious of your beautiful beach pictures but we did make it to Tunisia for a week so I do have some interesting shot from that and I can finally say that I have been to the African continent which is pretty cool.

I think I suggested some of these songs before but just in case I imagining that here a few that you could possible add to the list for the future

9 to 5 By Dolly Parton
Closer to Fine by Indigo Girl
Pencil Full Of Lead by Paolo Nutini
    Feeling Good by Nina Simone

I have more *laughs, but those were a few that popped into my head this morning

  4. It was so nice of those beach goers to use mostly yellow and blue umbrellas for your photograph.

  5. I am so glad song*ography is back - I am doing the Snoopy happy dance - yes, I am. Fantastic beach/shore shots and fabulous song for next week.
I thought of song*ography when I recently heard Jim Croce's Photographs and Memories, Fleetwood Mac's Landslide - and just about every song by Seals & Croft paints a photograph for me. Thanks to your song*ography I truly visualize photographs as I listen to the radio anymore. :)

  10. These pictures would make a wonderful coffee table book. They tell a beautiful, almost fantasy, story of the shore. I have been to Jersey's shore ... not for many years, but you pictures brought back many memories of it. Glad you are back with your Songography. I will have to put some time aside to particiapate. Thanks Kathy ...
