"You know I like my chicken fried
a cold beer on a Friday night...
"I Must Asche Spring to Stay Awhile"
(Thing #3 says my humor is akin to a junior high girl...except she doesn't say 'akin')
Truth. Beer for the Better Half. Wine for me. Welcome to Friday night at Villa d'Moi.
"A pair of jeans that fit just right
and the radio on...
Truth. My jeans fit just right on most days. But then...there are those other days. I blame it on the wine. And the radio? Yep. Usually we are listening to the Phillies...losing. Which means? More wine, less 'fits just right'.
"It's funny how it's the little things in life
that mean the most
Not where you live or what you drive
or the price tag on your clothes
There's no dollar sign on peace of mind
this I've come to know."
-"Chicken Fried" (Zac Brown Band)
Truth. I've really been enjoying something that doesn't happen too often in this part of the United States. It's called....SPRING. Typically, Philly has about ONE week of Spring. It is that glorious fleeting phenomenon that occurs between the gray icy slush and the H-H-H's (hazy, hot and humids). Like everything else here on the East Coast, Mother Nature usually likes to rush things. But not this year. Maybe Mother Nature feels guilty about the winter she wreaked havoc upon us with. Or maybe she is just tired out from that winter she wreaked havoc upon us with. But Spring has sprung and it has decided to kick back and stay awhile. Which means windows have been open, and the back porch has been getting some company in the evenings. We've been gathering. We've been lingering. We've been talking. We've been exhaling. It's been nice. It's those little things in life that mean the most. Cheers!

Let's see what you've done, or have seen, or have interpreted, or have created...for next week's song. You've probably heard it before (especially if you watch 'The Biggest Loser'). I love the fact that this song was used as the theme for the 2012 Para-Olympics in London. Truth. This song is on my playlist for when I hit the gym and/or run. It's one of those songs that motivates and pushes me.

I feel like a broken record BUT....thank you to all who join in and/or visit Song-ography. Can I tell ya how much I love it when I visit every one's blogs and see that so many of you have already beaten me to the punch?!? You're all AWESOME. Kinda makes me "Proud".
I'm digging your muatache-d glass! xo
ReplyDeleteGreat glass! :-) Loving the sun flare and the bokeh too.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you've been getting some beautiful spring weather! Love the shot of the jeans that fit just right.
ReplyDeleteWine for me too, and beer for Hubbers. Love your shoes!
ReplyDeleteVery special pictures. Art.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
Wonderful b&w post, love the composition!
ReplyDeleteMy post at: http://hanshb.wordpress.com
Great composition. Quirky too;)
ReplyDeleteGreat footwear and jeans. Just the shot Neil had in mind. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a mild start to summer - we've had the hot days, scattered thunderstorms, and some very pleasant evenings. I'd be just fine if Mother Nature lets this linger as long as she did the winter. As for adolescent humor - I don't wanta hear anything from the kids cause they started it first! (we just do it better) :)
ReplyDeleteWhen you live with a teenager..it's best to relate like a teenager. EXCEPT...I refuse the whole "Snapchat" stuff!
DeleteMornin' Kathy, you just keep that Jr. High sense of humor going because it's one of the things that keeps you going (I know Mike and I are the same that way). People are often confused at why we are smirking or chuckling. But we see things quite differently than most folks. Humor can be found in lots of unusual places. So, laugh on and let the world know how alive you are. We do!
ReplyDeleteIf you blame the Phillies I can blame the Sox, right?
ReplyDeleteWe still haven't has a full week of spring here - but the weekends have at least been AMAZING so it makes up for ti, right?
I had to laugh at your Spring comment. It's been summer down here for quite awhile. But I know what you mean. It is still kinda nice because I am still walking outside not forced into the gym yet - however I do have to get started at the butt crack of sunrise.
ReplyDeletePlease don't use "butt crack" and "gym" in the same post....I'm getting visions of some of the guys I have to put up with at my gym, haha.
DeleteLol, I know those guys! :D
DeleteYou know what I love about your photos today? They are "classy" looking. I can picture you sitting back enjoying the beautiful spring weather and just being relaxed with everything.
ReplyDeleteA good sense of humor is definitely something worth having! As well as nice moments enjoyed in the springtime, it's a gorgeous time of the year :)
ReplyDeleteHey, have you heard of second, third and forth etc. childhoods. Fun is the food of happiness and giggling and chuckling is all good. Your pictures are awesome (not surprised) and perfect for the subject matter. Beats the greasy fingers and face that you could have done with fried chicken :) As for Spring, Mother nature is taunting us ... one day of spring (fresh air, light breeze, mild temperatures) the next day is that hot, sweaty, humid summer you spoke of ... and then once in awhile a bit chilly. Can't really tell what season we are in, but I am greatful that it isn't winter anymore ( though my Izzi (dog) loves the cold weather becasue she is forced to wear a coat all year round). Lovely post, Kathy ... Right on, all of it!

Hi Kathy, I think I understand the songography thing...finally...I'm slow. :) I'll try to catch it next week. Oh, but first I should probably listen to the song. :D
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying this extra long Spring we've been getting too. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteShoes! I do love shoes....
ReplyDeleteWe seem to be enjoying some lovely weather in the UK here this week... long may it last but this is the UK after all and the weather is nothing if not changeable
