1. It's easy to soak up the moment when this is the view right outside your temporary digs in Arizona. Imagine sitting your patio, with a glass of wine, your best friend, and a chorus of coyotes serenading you at night. Magical.

2. But now that I'm back home, I've decided to soak up my daily life as much as possible. Even tho my views aren't quite so colorful, and the only serenading I get are my dogs whining to be let outside...ad nauseum. I find I'm most mindful of the moments when enjoying my photography. So I've started a 365 project. Daily life. IPhone. Some things big. Some things not so big. Little editing. Even little-"er" writing. Comments disabled. But all things that I'm mindful of. There is a link at the top of my page to
"In Focus"... my new blog where I will be attempting a photo dujour (or bust!).
3. I'm mindful that I'm not really feelin' the name "In Focus" It will change when the lightbulb in my head goes off. Since my lightbulb can function erratically...I didn't want to wait for a power surge.
4. ...still waiting on that lightbulb!
5. While I'm waiting on that...LOTS to soak up this weekend. Thing #2 is flying home tonight, and it's another weekend of power wedding planning and "to do's". 4 months and counting. Soon followed by Thing #1's big day at 6 months and counting. Def no lack of things to soak up! If only my wallet were soaking up some things too.
Here's where I'm linking up today ..."The Party's On"
Please join me on Sundays for Song-ography.
This week's song title is the Three Dog Night's "One is the Loneliest Number".
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you're doing a 365!! I started one a couple of years ago to keep me motivated as I went walking...and it's been amazing! This year I'm posting one a day with a quote to go with...just for something different. Most of mine are iPhone - occasionally I've got some big camera stuff that begs a quote so I use it. Just do what pleases me!! Can't wait to click over and watch you focus day by day. I ordered the book - elephant in the title - thanks for that idea! And....these photos are so beautiful...the thing I miss most when I'm not in Oregon is the big/huge/wide open sky!! {I have many other thoughts about weddings and such...but I've rambled enough for now!}
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots - Can't believe people out west see this everyday. I'm also doing a 365 project - it keeps life real.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photographs......and, you really should be getting paid to do this.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to, but would love to go to Arizona...I've heard about those sunsets, and wow!

ReplyDeleteSpectacular photos...there's just something about an Arizona sky that's different.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Yay for a 365! I plan to start one again later this year. Sounds like you'll have lots of great things going on to capture! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteGood for you with the 365 project. I am two thirds done with my first. Mine went from trying to get the perfect shots, too more about documenting my everyday life. So much less pressure.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the 365. I tried and failed miserably. Gorgeous photos of the desert.
ReplyDelete365's can be an amazing experience. Good luck on yours Kath. Beautiful AZ photos-and those moon photos! Postcard pretty I tell ya. Have fun wedding planning!!! Eeeee! So excited for u all
ReplyDeleteA wedding coming up and your are thinking about a 365 day blog project ... you are braver than I am, but I wish you well. If these pictures of Sonoma are your beginning point, you are off to a wonderous start. Beauty is always relative and relatively speaking ... these are exceptional.
