"Desperately Seeking Spring"
Ambler, Pennsylvania
Things are lookin' up! I can see the end in sight. It's not here yet, but it's def on the horizon. Spring. It thought it would sneak into town. Busted!
1. I see grass! Yes it's brown. Yes it's wet. But it's there just screaming "better get your lawn mower serviced!".
2. Sure sign of spring in suburbia? Lawn care service advertisements attached to my mailbox. Not sure whether I should take that personally or not. I'm starting to get a complex considering they are usually keeping company with house cleaning service fliers.
3. Thing #3 left for school without her jacket this morning, and I didn't even yell at her. The projected high? 33 degrees. Def not a sign of warmer temps, just the end of my resolve...which means Spring MUST soon be here.
4. My car got washed. It only took 24 hours to turn my clean "Alpine White" car back to "Fifty Shades of Grey" due to all the winter gunk left on the streets. But it got washed...once.
5. Cadbury Egg sightings Candy disguised as an egg. Or is it an egg disguised as candy? Either way, egg yolk should NEVER be in the same packaging as chocolate. It shouldn't even be in the same sentence.
Yep, the sun is making guest appearances. Not every day, not even all day. But enough that I recognize what it is. Definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.
Here's where I'm linking up today ..."The Party's On"
Please join me on Sundays for Song-ography.
This week's song title is the The Five Man Electrical Band's "Signs".
:) I love that blue sky...hmmm, even though we've had the strangest and coldest winter here in some time we have had to mow occasionally this winter, weekly now. I saw a photo on Facebook recently of a white car and they drew the most beautiful scene in the shades of grey. And yes, the thought of egg yolk and chocolate....noooo!
ReplyDeleteCool gnarly tree branches! I'm with you on this spring thing. I think we all need a big shake up to rejuvenate the mind and soul. While we don't get nearly the snow or cold that you have had, the brown and gray scenery is starting to get very very old. But alas...the weather outlook for March is predicted to be colder than we would wish. Don't shoot the messenger! Thank you for joining me today. You always make me smile and laugh...very much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI may or may not have done a small dance on a 2 inch patch of grass I saw the other night....my friend thought I was NUTS!!! But there is a light at the end of the tunnel....maybe?
ReplyDeleteI can feel the difference! The birds are starting and the sun is up a little later, and it just feels like hope is coming back. But so is the mud :( Just when all is looking up, the Easter candy comes out. I can't resist the Cadbury eggs...
ReplyDeleteWe can't see grass yet, but I sure see the signs of spring and summer by just going into any store. The summer furniture is already on display so yes, there is an end coming, a little later than I would like, but coming!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking photo...I saw the Cadbury eggs today, too, while out running errands. Spring is coming.... :)
ReplyDeleteThat's what I like ... a positive thinker. It may not be quite here yet, but it is surely on it's way. I have seen a few signs myself. 1) I am not putting boots on my dog when we walk. 2) I am only wearing two layers instead of three. 3)My car is still dirty, but I am thinking about getting it washed. 4) My dog is still dirty, but I am thinking about getting her bathed. 4) The snow is melting and turning into water not ice. 5) The sun is so bright I can't see outside, but it is here :) I think you may be right,Kathy ... it is almost Spring :)

I know we 'll all be really happy to see that sun out more of the time, and oh for green grass and flowers. So ready!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, you are smelling Spring in the air I'm sure. And, don't forget we put the clocks ahead this weekend too.
ReplyDeleteyour enthusiasm is jumping off the page!!! yippee!!
ReplyDeleteAnd doesn't the sunshine feel freakin' awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThey say that the sun's strength in March is equal to the sun's strength in September......I'll take it!!!!
Turning them clocks ahead this weekend will give us longer days too! Woot-woot!
That image is nothing short of magnificent. I used to contemplate the consumption of Cadbury Eggs with a certain mix of 'gag' and "ugh" - and then I ate one. Suddenly I was confident that if you say it enough times, they could be an acceptable substitute to be served at breakfast (and lunch, dinner ...).
ReplyDeleteOh, I too am a member of the 50 shades vehicle club. Reality is my vehicle is black masquerading as grey / white. Salt Salt Baby!
I'm desperate for spring. Really. Sadly, 33 sounds warm and promising.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know I'm not the only one not attracted to Cadbury eggs. We had 33 and sunshine here today and agreed it felt like spring despite the snow that still covers most of the ground. Love your photo!
ReplyDeleteI am anxiously waiting spring too. Thank you for sharing your sweet blog at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop ♥
ReplyDeleteI like that photo... nicely processed!
ReplyDeleteI have such photo envy, I need to get on the ball and learn to use my blasted camera!
ReplyDeleteI really love the perspective of this photo as well as that brilliant blue. I've said quite a few times before this about my new found understanding of the affects of the weather you face upon your everyday - especially this year. You sound hopeful. Renee
ReplyDeleteYes, the perspective is great in this pic! And I also love the blue tone!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
Best, have a great weekend,
Brigitte
yes ... springtime!!! Unfortunately we still have over a foot of snow covering the ground here in chicagoland. But i did hear the dripping of the snow melting yesterday ... i think it is going to take a long time ... but it is starting!! have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI think spring may be coming. Your image is beautiful. I love the blue sky peeking through the tree branches.
ReplyDeleteMy black car is '50 shades of gray' with all the salt. Maybe I should get it washed today, or maybe not. :)
How lovely photo! Blue sky, branches, light.. all together.. fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely blue sky! No grass here, brown or otherwise, still tons of snow!
ReplyDeleteI love that blue sky too! We still have too much snow to see ground (or grass) anytime soon. I used to love those eggs candies (yolk and all!) i haven't had one in years (I usually reach for the peeps!).
ReplyDeleteNever fails....need rain or snow, wash the car.
ReplyDeletepretty blue sky in that photo.
Am not a Cadbury egg connoisseur either. Prefer Russel Stover eggs.
ReplyDeleteThe car washing always seems so pointless, but it does have to be done.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo. Keep the faith - Spring WILL come. (With tons of photo ops!)
ReplyDeleteI admit I picked up a couple of Russell Stover eggs to send my son even though Easter is pretty far off.
ReplyDeleteLovely pic, love the colors!
ReplyDeleteSpring has finally sprung in the UK and it is sooooo wonderful
