This week's song title is the Proclaimers' "I Would Walk 500 Miles".
I wanna go!!! Love these!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots, Kathy. I hope you got to just sit and take them all in from time to time.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol...I know it doesn't appear so...but this trip we did LOTS of "taking it in". Besides dinner reservations for New Year's Eve at a restaurant...we had NO PLANS. That was at Thing #3's request, so we thought we'd give that approach a shot. Was kinda nice. It helped that we had already been to London, so we didn't feel we needed to get out and do it all in this one trip. Despite the rainy weather, it was quite enjoyable.
DeleteIt's amazing how you can torture me and charm me all at nice with these images! Love the bits and bobs of red! What a great way to unite these photos to tell a story.
ReplyDeleteAnd how all at the same time got changed to nice...I'll never know.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots!
ReplyDeleteI felt like I was there!

Wow, I loved your bits and bobs of red, that must have been fun to put together...it's been too long since I've been to London - great tour. Thanks for linking up to Travel Photo Mondays
ReplyDeleteRed, one of my favorite colors and you have provided me with some beautiful red eye candy. I bet it was just beautiful in London during the holidays!!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun shots. Don't you just love those bear skin hats that the palace guards wear.??? A fun event to watch

Love seeing you London photos. Makes me want to go back. I didn't get to spend enough time there last trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing us London through your eyes and lens! I love all of it! Now I'm singing that Clash song, "London Calling"... Keep it up Kathy, you always make my day bright! Stay warm! Aloha
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos that brought back memories of my only visit to London.
ReplyDeleteI am visiting via the GYB party and will be back.
What a great way to tie together a collection of rather unrelated photos! I think the only thing you left out was one of those red double-decker buses. I love the image of the flag and Big Ben. You made me wish I could visit London again.
ReplyDeleteYou have captured my city with style and beauty. Considering the weather you had you really did get some excellent images

London has the most beautiful shades if red! Love these Kathy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I love how you tied them all together with the color red.
ReplyDeleteWow - that is one beautiful post. Beautiful photography and subjects. I particularly like "window shopping" and "shoes" :)
ReplyDeleteI am just having such trouble reading blogs-really long work days of 12-14 hours. I missed this one earlier this week, but glad I have caught it now. Kathy, seriously, I love your images. You take amazing shots! You have an eye girlfriend. So much more fortuante than that poor child in your namesake blog title who had a tongue. Never been to London. Sadly I can't afford to travel much. Love to see the city through your eyes. My fave here is the changing of the guard. Followed closely by window shopping-not because I'm a shopper, but because it's a very cool layered vibrant reflections image, and that Convent Garden with a variety of repeating shapes. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhile I know it has nothing to do with your eye or the quality of your images, could you remind me of what you shoot for a longer lens? I think it was a Tamron that went up to 270? I'd also love to know if you like the lens. That would be helpful when you have a chance. Thanks my friend.
Hey Stranger! Sending you an email too, in case you don't see my reply here. But yes, I use my Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 about 99% of my time. It truly is my go-to daily lens. It was the only lens I took to London with me. Altho, I only have one other lens to choose from, my 50mm. That's a great lens too, but it is very confining as to my use. Since I often have no idea what I'm going to shoot until I run into it, I do not have either the time or the inclination to be switching out my lenses. The Tamron gives me enough flexibility to make me happy 99% of the time. There are some occassions where I'd like to get closer OR further than it allows....someday perhaps I'll remedy that.
Deleteabsolutely STUNNING photos! And clever title ;D
