Short and sweet post this week, the sun is shining and I have no Things at home this weekend, so I'm heading out with my camera to see what I see. Finally getting into the holiday spirit, so next week's Song-ography song embraces the time of year...
"It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas"
Michael Buble'
Even if you don't personally celebrate Christmas, it certainly has to LOOK like it around you somewhere. Heck, it started "looking" like Christmas once the Halloween sales ended at the stores.
Thanks for joining in on Song-ography! As always, I look forward to visiting your blogs to see what creative ways you've photographically interpreted this week's song prompt.
P.S. You can now find me on Facebook. Please hop on over to You'll Shoot Your Eye Out and give me a "like".
That is one of my favorite songs! Hope I can get something together to post. Yours is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too! :)
DeleteI can't use spray paint without painting everything but what I'm trying to paint...I don't know how people manage to do graffiti that looks so lovely and flowing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad place but I like the graffiti - somehow brightens the parking lot.Perfect picture.
ReplyDeleteLove the starkness! And love me some Buble!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot Kathy and perfectly done in Black and White, it so represents the starkness of losing a person the means so much to you... Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. The first thing you know it will be Christmas day! Hard to believe!
ReplyDeletePerfect in black and white to depict the emptiness!
ReplyDeleteSo fitting! Love the image! I hope you do enjoy this sunny day with your camera. Glad the holiday spirit has arrived for you! Can't wait to see what you capture on your outing!
ReplyDeleteyour image is great....lost, abandon, graffitti, perfect!! my trip to n.y. paid off for this one, i just wish i had known while i was there. i would have photographed on or two of the thousand taxi's we saw!!
ReplyDeleteThat is paradise paved, short and sweet and sad. This is an interesting song choice -- so many takes on it. This is a really fun link up! Hope you enjoy this Christmas season :)
ReplyDeleteThe Counting Crowes did a great cover of this song but the original Joni Mitchell version brings back the most memories for me. According to a fan web site (jonimitchell.com) the song has been covered by 343 artists. Also that site says that the song was about Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteOh how I've missed you - I've been too busy as of late to participate, but I gotta - just GOTTA do next week's song. Give me a kick in the butt this Thursday or so to remind me, would ya???
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.. Have fun being out and about grabbing photos today.. Sounds like the perfect way to spend a Sunday..
ReplyDeleteDramatic B & W and delicate , the picture is superb !
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! Busy this week working on the house laying floors and painting.
ReplyDeleteTry as I might, for some reason, I failed to take any parking lot pictures over the course of this year - well, except one and it is mysteriously hidden on the dead hard driver that would require an IT guru - which ain't gonna happen. Great concept for this week's tune (which I forgot how much I liked) and I look forward to next week's. And by "once the Halloween sales were through" you meant - the middle of August, right? lol!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great camera day.
Whoop! More South Street... I love that place.
ReplyDeleteMollyxxx
totally cool edition and LOVE the selective color
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I love the black and white for this shot.
ReplyDeleteGood Grief, I forgot to comment on the Hosts entry...shame on me! - Great interpretation. The Graffiti really gives this a gritty feel.
