A shout out to my little town of Ambler, PA for making old time Hollywood come to life during the summer months...
"Hollywood Summer Nights"
Ambler Theatre
Ambler, PA
Every summer the retro movie theatre in Ambler presents a series of films that makes this Hollywood movie junkie's heart sing. "Hollywood Summer Nights" where the greatest films of Hollywood return to the silver screen. Yes Virginia, there once were movies that lacked techni-color and special effects. Just good stories, and fabulous movie stars. This summer? I'll be loading up on popcorn while drooling over Singing in the Rain, The Great Escape, Casablanca, On the Waterfront, Vertigo, Roman Holiday, North by Northwest, Sunset Boulevard, AND....drum roll puhleeze...Gone With the "freakin'" Wind. Have you EVER seen Vivien Leigh's beautiful eyes blown up on a big screeen? Sigh.
Honestly, it just doesn't get any better for moi. And da-da-da-dat's all folks. Cue the orchestra.
Sounds like fun. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful! :-D
ReplyDeleteAnd heck ... I'm in love with that building!!!! Wow!!!!
What a beautiful old theatre!!
ReplyDeleteFun! Love the old town feel!!
ReplyDeleteI never tire of Gone With The Wind. Vivian was so gorgeous and I fall madly in love with Rhett Butler each and every time all over again and root for him to stay with her even though I know he won't. You fool Rhett... You fool!!
ReplyDeleteI go to the Ambler to see current movies. Didn't realize they had old movies, too. I'll have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great retro building and I love the blue sky... I can't wait for our trip in August

DeleteFabulous shot and how fun to go to a lovely old theater and watch the great classics!
ReplyDeleteWithout a word of a lie. I think of you when I see a building /structure/objects In a street that I wish I could take a picture of. Just like this shot here I always feel you take them so well. Enjoy the movies and the popcorn. And can I please add how lovely your 'hearts' post was to read through. Thanks for sharing it. I've been reading ''forgiveness and other acts of love' by Stephanie dowrick and your post was quite relevant. Renee. PS I appreciated your thoughtful email reply the other day too -thank you.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun. We have Summer movies at the Saenger. Gone with the wind would be a good one to see.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photo here of this theater. GWTW is my favorite movie of all time. I've read many books on Vivien Leigh and read that she was so beautiful people would often just stop and stare at her when she was walking down the street. - Have missed seeing you on SHS lately. Hope you haven't given up on it. Also I "follow" most people through E-Mail so it's great if people add the follow by E-mail feature to their blogs.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful capture!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite classic movies...Gone with the wind! It's timeless!
