Duckin' around...

"Duckin' Around"
Ambler, PA

Can I tell you how excited I am?  For the FIRST time in over 30 years I am going to live NEAR a parent.  Close enough that it doesn't involve an overnight commitment or an all-day venture to visit.  Close enough that I can just pop in to say hi.  Close enough to drop my laundry off (kidding!). Yep, the Maternal Unit is moving.  Not just "moving", but moving to a retirement community that is literally within jogging distance of my home. And since I am NOT a jogger...it is CLOSE.

Took Mom to check out her new digs this week.  And not only is it a VERY nice retirement community, but by the look of the water fountain at it's entrance...it's got some residents with a sense of humor too.

Yep, it's going to be fun having Mom so close.  Not to mention, maybe I can save a few bucks on laundry detergent and fabric softener.

P.S.  I haven't been posting quite as frequently this summer as I usually do.  I've been enjoying my days, instead of documenting them.  I will get back to my normal schedule of posts after the laid back days of summer have passed.  In the meantime, I am going to aim for a few posts per week.  AND, I have a new photography link-up I'm rolling around in my brain.  Hoping to get it all nailed down within the next few weeks...so stay tuned!  Hope you all are enjoying your summer too!

  6. I remember how excited I was when my parents moved to the city where I worked. It was wonderful - and sure beat the 4 1/2 hour trek over the mountain and through the woods. Enjoy your summer breather and I look forward to hearing more about this "link-up" thingie. Fun!
