1. Dear Philly,
I-phone
2. Dear Baseball Gods,
Thing #2 and Fiance'
I-phone
Please bless these two and help them overcome their opposing belief systems. Altho, if you could convert the fiance' to the truth faith of the Phillies Nation...I might be able to accept him easier.
3. Dear Elliptical,
I-phone
Will work out for wine. That's 5 glasses I just deposited into my "wine bank".
4. Dear Chickie and Pete's,
I-phone
Okay, I'll exercise for your Crabby Fries too.
5. Dear State Store (that's where we Pennsylvanian's have to go to buy our wine),
I-phone
You talkin' to me?
Disclaimer: all photos taken with my trusty side-kick, aka Iphone. Nope, no technical merit. Just the week that was.

I wondered about those t-shirts....mixed marriages are so challenging! One of my daughter's best friends - born and bred Bostonian married a die-hard Yankees fan. We love him...conditionally! And I'm wondering if giving a bottle of that wine to my dog-walking-wine-loving daughter would be....hmmm.. appropriate!!??! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThere is no inappropriate wine :)
DeleteJust being able to wear that cute Phillie shirt should make it worth the conversion. xox
ReplyDeleteLove your first shot and how festive looking it is! Too cute. Hope these two will be able to work out their differences! So when is the wedding? Have they set a date yet?
ReplyDeleteNot sure yet Jeanne. But since Thing #2 is a high school chemistry teacher...it's looking like a summer wedding it will be :)
DeleteI will work out for food in general hehe!!
ReplyDelete(-:
Your daughter is beautiful! I can see you in her! Yeah, fries are my weakness! Couldn't pass those up.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I love the Philly photo--very creative. Mixed-team marriages can work out--my husband is a Virginia Tech fan, while I'm a UVA fan. It works. :-)
ReplyDeleteYep...I've met a few people along the way that had very noticeable accents from your next of the woods!
ReplyDeleteMay the happy couple overcome their difference and live in peace. BTW...she looks like her beautiful Mom! :-)
The whole concept of the state store is completely alien to us in the UK. When I first came to Philiy I was totally bemused by this little quirk. As for Philiy... *sigh, roll on August!
ReplyDeleteMollyxxx
lol I love a good wine label.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who used to live in Philly, I have to say, Yes, there is such a thing as a Philly accent ... altho I didn't know it was disappearing. I get it on the baseball team thing. We are UK basketball fans who bleed blue; my son-in-law is ... are you ready? A Dukie.
ReplyDeleteWow -- one hour on the elliptical? That's awesome -- I like your idea of working off the calories before you consume them. Genius! :)
ReplyDeleteCrabby fries! I am THERE! :D
ReplyDeleteI never knew that people from Philly have an accent either. Interesting.
I always love your iPhone photos. :)
Love this post! It's too cute!! Your daughter's beautiful, congratulations on her engagement!! We are 3 hours away from Philly ... can't say I've ever noticed that Philadelphians had an accent either! haha Don't know if we'll have to go to the state store for our wine in the future?! My husband will miss the Chairman's selection ...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great week. Love your photos.
I shared you blog with my sidekick (a.k.a. Mike) and he got a kick out of it. I told him your blog was always interesting and quite entertaining. Now he finally believes me. Hope you have a wonderful weekend Mrs. Blackburn.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is gorgeous and her fella is mighty fine too. I enjoyed your exercise/consumption calculations. When I hit the treadmill I'm thinking (between gasping for air) - "whew, finally worked off lunch" and then I ask myself do I have what it takes to even consider dinner; and I'm pretty sure the treadmill responds back "do you feel lucky?, well do ya punk?"
ReplyDeleteAs said before I do enjoy these weekly posts - you have such great character in your delivery. Thanks, Renee.
ReplyDeleteLOL! This post made me chuckle this morning! Girl, those crab fries look de-lish! #foodlover I will workout for wine, cookies, and the lobster crab dip w/tortillas at the Longhorn Steak House. Yum! Btw...Thing #2 looks just like you & her so to be hubs is very handsome. Come on...he should score a few pts. for that! After all handsomeness = good looking grand kids. lol
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely delightful! Need to import cases of the wine ....all my wine loving girlfriends would be ooooh so happy!
ReplyDeleteOh no to #2. That's as difficult as me marrying a meat-eater. So my dad asks, "What are my grandchildren going to eat." Let the baby decide. LOL! For some reason the last three photos aren't showing up for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute couple~
ReplyDeleteI had to come back to this one. I was at my parents for the weekend and I think it was their internet. Anyway, love the burning calories for wine - that's a great incentive!
