Scavenger Hunt Sunday (2/09/2013)...

Everyone survive Nemo?  We got by unscathed, just a few inches of snow.  The perfect amount to take some photos and still not be confined to the house due to weather conditions.  Altho, you won't see any of those here today in Scavenger Hunt.  I was a little more organized this week and had my shots done a few days pre-Nemo.  I have no idea where that little bit of organization morphed from, but somehow it materialized for moi.

This week's prompts are:  The Small Things, Valentine, Illustration, Work of Art, and Window.

1.  The Small Things

"Sweet Gum Tree"

Picked up a whole bunch of these small things at Valley Forge last week.  Figured they would come in handy for a Scavenger Hunt Prompt sooner or later.  Go figure, it was sooner.

2.  Valentine

"Love Is Open"

Much better than "Love is Closed".

3.  Illustration

"Good Fortune"

I'm pretty sure this illustrates the point that I should head to Nordstrom's shoe department, post haste.

4.  Work of Art

"Let Them Eat Cake"

Seems like such a waste to eat this beautiful work of art.  But someone's gotta do it.

5.  Window

"How Much is that Doggie in the Window?"

You just never know what you'll find in the parking lot of "Whole Foods".  Apparently an organic lovin' canine.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.  If you get the chance, make sure to hop on over to Scavenger Hunt Sunday at Ramblings and Photos to check out all the creative submissions.  Always a treat.  Always a "Why didn't 'I' think of THAT!?!" moment too for moi.

  2. Outstanding group - love the 'love open' sign as well as the gorgeous cake (too pretty to eat!) and the doggie in the window at the market - kudos for having camera / phone at hand and thinking to snap a shot. At some point today I passed something and thought 'I should take a picture of that' - but alas I was driving and now I can't even remember what it was. Oh well! Enjoyed the visit.

  8. The cake is wonderful. It reminds me of the Sugar Arts Show at a fair we attended last fall. They do indeed look too good to eat. Nicely captured. Have a blessed Sunday.

  9. Love "how much is that doggie in the window" So cute and looks as if he liked getting his picture taken. Glad your weather was not too bad. Our friends in Massachusetts have gotten hammered. Trees down, no electric or water for 2 days so far... No fun in the winter. Will look forward to you snow photos

  11. Be sure and show us what you got at Nordstroms, plus those cakes don't eat themselves. You have shown me that sweetgum balls have a purpose besides spraining ankles, and whew, I'm so glad Love is Open!

  18. I laughed at your commentary on the fortune. I believe you could interpret most fortunes as an omen to go shopping :). The cake is gorgeous! My favorite is the first photo...love it's simplicity.

  19. Ahhh! I love it all! Did you use a light box to shoot the sweet gum pod and fortune cookie? The contrast is just breathtaking (I'm still learning to tackle photos like these). These are easily my favorite photos of the week. Love.

    1. Yes, a home made one. A cardboard box With a piece of white poster board bent along the inside to give it a Seamless appearance.

  31. love your choices for the scavenger hunt! I'm glad you had the first one labeled because I was trying to remember from decades ago having to hunt for leaves and other aspects of trees for science. I love the sign "Love is open"!

  33. Great shots Kathy! That cake looks amazing. Glad you got off better than we did with Nemo. We had about 20 inches but our road crews have it all cleaned up nicely. Expecting a few more inches today. Looks like winter has come in with a bang. Good for the ski resorts. Have a great week!
