In search of extraordinary...

"Homebody"
February 18 - February 25, 2013
Project 52 (8/52)

The week that was...

Not good, not bad, not great, not lousy, it was....just kinda...just what it is.   I guess you need a little ordinary in your life to appreciate the extraordinary.  In that case, it was definitely a week where I was laying the groundwork to appreciate extraordinary-to-be.  I barely left the house, except for chauffeuring duties.  It was rainy.  It was cold.  It was grey.  I think I got me a case of the blahs.   Temporary relief via hunkering down and avoiding the outdoors AND people. Which is what I did.  Kinda boring.  Kinda ordinary.  Kinda the week that was.  Too bad I needed a Project 52 photo to document all this excitement.

So what did I accomplish this past week?  Save the world kinda stuff.  Like weeding thru my nail polish collection and throwing out the OPI bottles that I apparently bought when I was 25.  Tried on all my summer shorts to see where I stand in my yearly winter battle of  "thighs vs. outta sight outta mind" (yeah THAT improved my mood).  Considered caving in and watching "Wicked Tuna" which the Better Half INSISTS isn't about "Chicken of the Sea".  I was proud that I hadn't sunken that low, and watched a "Dance Moms" marathon instead.  And I sat down to savor my Philadelphia Magazine "The 50 Best Restaurants" edition.  Only to realize that yes I apparently I bought this magazine TWICE because it is sitting on my bedside table AND the coffee table....at the same time. Which then got me on  a "memory testing" frenzy.  Glad to report that I do remember all my Things names AND the names of all my favorite OPI nail polish colors.  Whew.

Goal for this week?  To get out of the house and look for some "extraordinary".

  2. I bought the same book twice...and I had already read the first one. How's that for a bac memory. It hasn't been nice enough to motivate me either...but maybe today. I have hopes for today...that is if I can get away from the computer.

  4. I love "down" time - slow weeks. I try to keep one week a month with nothing scheduled after work and a totally free weekend. The gray weather does need to be blown out to sea, though...we're all ready for that!

  6. Sometimes I really appreciate a down week at home to do all those sorts of things. But, I think most of us are ready to be out and about after all these gray days. We've had so much rain here in the south.

  9. I am apparently WAY over due for something extraordinary because that sounds very similar to the past month for me. Reminds me, why the heck am I holding on to Old Navy Fourth of July glitter nail polish purchased for my daughter when she was an age where I polished her nails. Gracious! (no way in hell am I going near that shorts drawer)

  14. The weather around here, I think, plays such a big part...too many yucky days in a row.

If your looking for a little photographic inspiration there's a Ueselmann (think I spelled that right)exhibit at the Michener in Doylestown. At least it doesn't matter what the weather is like outside...
