Scavenger Hunt Sunday (10/28/2012 edition)...

Taking a few moments between battening down the hatches, and hitting the local supermarket for "Frankenstorm" provisions to post for Scavenger Hunt. As a good friend of mine says "WHY does everyone buy eggs, milk and bread when a storm hits...do they plan on making French Toast?".  Never really thought of it that way, but it doesn't apply to me anyway because I bought wine and ice cream.  REEEEEEEALLY hoping this is just another case of the weather man getting it wrong AGAIN.  But, I think the odds of them finally getting one right MIGHT just be in their favor this time.  If ya don't see me around here for awhile, it means I've either lost power or am in a sugar induced coma from ice cream and wine overload.  In the immortal words of Danny Zuko...."Oh, Sandy!!!!!".

This week's Scavenger Hunt Sunday prompts are:  Pattern(s), Machine, Signs or Logos, Rocks or Stones, and Sparkle.

1.  Pattern(s)

A few of my Autumn decorations.

2.  Machine

"Horsepower-ed"
Lambertville, New Jersey

3.  Signs or Logos

"Do Not Take Corn"
Lambertville, New Jersey

4.  Rocks or Stones

Valley Forge, PA

5.  Sparkle

"Autumn Sparkle"
Lambertville, New Jersey

To all my friends here in the Northeast, please be careful and I hope you all survive Sandy unscathed.  Stay safe and....take photos!!!!  Maybe next week's Scavenger Hunt Sunday prompts will be:  Rain, Water, Wind Blown, Soggy, and Wine.

  1. I love your storm preparation!! And, of course, your photos. They each capture so much more than just the images....they tell a story. What a treat!

  3. Love that machine shot, and definitely the do not take corn! Great set, and I sure hope Sandy doesn't cause you too much trouble. I feel horrible for a friend in NY, whose husband is in his final weeks of life - on hospice - she really doesn't need this right now! You want to make sure you eat all that ice cream before the electricity goes out, it's not any fun to clean out of the freezer . . . Make sure and wave the white flag so we know you made it!! xo

  4. That machine shot is such a great capture - you timed it perfectly, and how beautiful is that autumn tree? Stay safe - and keep drinking the wine!

  6. I'm a bit northwest of you so I'm not as near the water, but my sons live where you live and my daughter is in Norfolk, VA so I've been watch Sandy very closely. You seem to be in good spirits, albeit a bit off center (as usual). I love your spirit and the best of photography right in this space. My favorite this week is machine. It is a totally perfect picture right down to the Austalian sheep dog that is bounding up from the rear...priceless. Be safe.

  9. So funny! I always wondered why people bought things that needed to be refrigerated or frozen? If you lose power they won't last long.......I guess all the more reason to eat it at once, eh?
This series is a great one - every.single.one.of.them!

  14. Simply love your last photo in this set. Can I just add also Kathy about those beautiful BEAUTIFUL photos in your previous post from the farm. There are too many favourites to mention and chat at length about in this short space but I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciated looking through them. Well done on joining the group, and I'm so glad that while you're respecting the other members' skills that you weren't too overwhelmed and was able to stay confident with your own style, because your 'way' with photography is impressive and noteworthy. I hope you and your family keep safe during the next few days of the uncertain weather.
