Rainy Days and Wednesdays...

...(with poetic license), always get me down.

So WHY don't grey skies and rainy days get me down when I'm in Paris (I have yet to be there when it hasn't been rainy). A transparently rhetorical question posed with the soul purpose of gratuitously showing some "not so new" photos to compensate for the fact it is raining AGAIN and I completely lack motivation to do ANYTHING today.  Whew, gotta love a good run-on sentence.   Oui... Calgon take me away (but can we stop in Italy on the way?)...merci', grazie, thanks a bunch.

I consider strolling hand-in-hand along a Parisian rain-soaked alley pretty darn romantic.  In Philly?  I'd just worry about feeling like a drowned rat and what the humidity is doing to my hair.

Exploring side streets and alleys for a bistro to dodge into to escape the drizzle over an espresso and croissant.  Or at least TRY to order an espresso and croissant in French without getting laughed at.  In Philly?  Seriously?  Have you HEARD what we sound like?  "Youse want a cawfee wit da donut honey?"

What is it that W.C. Fields has etched on his tombstone?  Something akin to "All things considered, I'd rather be in Philadelphia"????

Obviously he wasn't looking out MY window this morning!  Geez Louise...better add Windex to my shopping list.

Off to my quaint neighborhood Wawa to escape the grey over a cup of coffee and Tastykake.  Hoping sunshine and motivation are out there SOMEWHERE!

  1. Gorgeous Paris photos!! With a location like that, it would be impossible to feel down...I'm in the same boat as you this week: lots of drizzle and clouds, which means limited photo opportunities. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely images - enjoy that WaWa Tastycake. lol (that just doesn't sound quite as romantic as a Paris croissant). :)

  2. Wawa....hee, hee. Just like being in Paris. I love that first shot. Well fessing up, I like all of these images. Never been to Paris. I'd walk in the rain with you to find a cafe down a small alley. Sounds delightful.
Don't forget to cover your head when you stop at Wawa.

  5. I suppose the rain is always better in Paris...I've never been, but I'd have to say it would make me happy! Great photos and post. Since here in, Las Vegas, we don't get much rain, I wonder what my excuse is...I've lost some motivation myself...sigh.

    Thanks for sharing.

  6. Gee I love your Blog entries. Photos and words. Missing Philly each time, sentimentally speaking, from Chicagoland. I would love to see what you would find to shoot here in this midwestern metropolis.!!

  16. Oh sweet nostalgia - your mention of things I know - Wawa and Tastycakes! I love the rain BTW. But only if I get to look at it like through the window in your last photo. I have no desire to KNOW what its doing to my hair.

  18. Rainy day never get me down. That because we hardly ever get any of the wet stuff here in the desert. I do believe it rained the other night for 10 min in the middle of the night so I saw nothing. Boo Hoo.... LOVE all your photos.. especially the older couple walking!

    Hugs~
