Scavenger Hunt Sunday (#22)...

It never ceases to amaze me how my Scavenger Hunt Sunday participation has become quite the routine.  First I GASP at the prompt when first read, and bemoan the fact that I will NEVER get these!  Never I say...NEVER!!!!  The week progresses and I come to the lamentable conclusion that THIS will be the week I won't be able to participate because I haven't a clue what to shoot.  Thursday approaches and a light bulb goes off in my head of an idea for ONE prompt.  And then, for some magical and unexplainable reason...the rest always follow soon after.  I have no idea why it happens this way, and  I'm not going to question the magical wisdom of the Photography Gods.  Just a big THANK YOU to them will suffice. But MAYBE could the Gods just make my brain spark a little earlier in the week next time? Puhleeeeeeeze??!!??

And off we go:

1.  Stacked Up

Thing #1 and his HUGE "Catcher's Hands".  Just a few of the MANY baseballs  he's collected from his youth baseball > high school > college > professional baseball playing days....because you can obviously never have too many baseballs laying around. In his defense, they each have a significance and memory attached for him.

2.  Winter Wonderland

NO snow here yet this winter in Philly.  But I saw this lumberjack  guy strolling down the city street the other day hauling this Christmas tree over his shoulder.  Made me realize I never even THOUGHT about what "city folk" have to do to dispose of a live Christmas Tree.  FYI...turns out he was taking it to the PRISON which was a collection sight.

So what's a snow-less Philly gal to do?  Photoshop of course!  If only I knew how to Photoshop a red plaid jacket on the lumberjack.

3.  Hole

Hole in the wall, or more accurately...ceiling.  Do ALL prison cells come with their own individual sky lights?

4.  Frozen

Help!  Thing #3's  eyes are frozen to the computer screen, mesmerized.  You are getting sleepy, VEEEEERRRRRY sleepy, on the count of three you will start clucking like a chicken.

5.  Sweet

At  FIRST I thought this prompt was "sweat"...until I realized I mis-read.  Doesn't matter...it's SWEET that I'm back to working up a SWEAT while running again.

So guess where I am today???  I'm up on Broadway!  Took the train this morning with Thing #3, the Better Half, and "James Dean" to see "Book of Mormon"....I'm sure FREEZING my tail off as you are reading this.  Don't cry for me Argentina.  Alas, still no snow however.  So thank you in advance for any comments, and I anxiously await to return and visit every one's hunt when I get back and thaw out tonight.  If you get a chance, check out all the hunts at "Ramblings and Photos" .

I'm in a New York state of mind...

-Kathy

I have my set done, but I cannot post yet because it is only just after nine here - and my title is "Scavenger Hunt Sunday" so posting it on a Saturday night won't do. That said, I was happy to see yours tonight!

    Well done!!

  15. I can completely relate to the weekly SH roller coaster of emotions before it all miraculously falls into place. Love your stacked, so creative and I love the texture and repetition in the balls. Hole is so intriguing and I'm trying to get into running again too, especially after too many sweets!

  26. Mornin' Kathy, you sure pulled that one off with all those great shots. I love how that guy with the tree looks like he has a full head of green (albiet pine-smelling) dredlocks (washes his hear with Pine Sol maybe). I think I told you, you can have some of my snow if you want it. Our 6+ inches is frozen solid and here to stay. Brrrrrr!
