Scavenger Hunt Sunday (#21)...

Welcome back Scavenger Hunt Sunday,  I have missed you!  But WOW... couldn't you have eased me back in a bit before throwing me to the curb with your prompts this week? Let's see:  One Color (ok), Empty (I can deal with it), One Dozen (geesh, what IS there besides eggs?), Soft (check!), Laundry (WTFudge?!?!?!?).  I almost boycotted Scavenger Hunt this week because seriously, do I REALLY need to hang around laundry anymore than I HAVE to?  Next week maybe a prompt could be "dirty dishes".. yep, THAT would be fun.

Just joshing ya Scavenger Hunt. after all you ARE my favorite link up.  I have to admit it was a bit tougher than I thought it would be getting these prompts in the midst of Things departing, back to school trauma, and un-bedecking the house.  But here they are.  And if you get the chance, check out all the other "Laundry" photos over at
Ramblings and Photos.  And on to the hunt!

1.  One Color

A big thumbs up to you all.  Or does that mean "let them live" in Rome?  Either way, BOTH to you!

2.  Laundry (seriously??!!??)

There is only ONE way I can tolerate hanging out with the laundry....

Cortona Alley Way
Cortona, Italy

...when it is in Italy!  Why does their laundry look so much more refined than our U.S. laundry?  Probably because you don't see thongs and gym socks hanging around.

3.  Empty

Hmmmm, can't decide whether a date book empty of obligations and commitments is a HAPPY thing, or a SAD thing.

1.  Dozen

Okay, they aren't ALL in the picture frame but...you get the idea.  I've had these Lennox china cups for about 25 years now and I don't think I've EVER used them.  Until their photo shoot the other day.  Actually, my first thought was to stack them with their saucers, but the Better Half didn't see the wisdom in that!

5.  Soft

"Happy Landings"

Yep, I was mighty happy it was a soft landing.  And my Better Half wonders why I never do this stuff when he is around.  Let's just say "I" see the wisdom in THAT!

It's good to be back in sync with my regular link ups after the holiday.  I feel that now all is right in my world.  EXCEPT...the laundry!

Happy Sunday everyone, and as you all know by now....comments are always appreciated!

  1. You rocked these this week! I thought they were hard too, and scrambled today to collect the last of them. I’d have to say both laundry shots are good, but there is something about laundry in Italy that just seems oh so dreamy!

  2. I love the way your red striped towel compliments the vertical shadows of the laundry basket.
And the dozen tea cup handles photo is very elegant!

  7. Okay, you are brilliant. BRILLIANT I tell you!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday sounds like both a blast and a challenge - and you have pulled it off as if it were nothing at all. Impressive. And those red heels . . . !!! Every time I see a red pair of heels from here on out I will always be reminded of you and Joan Collins. LOL! ;)

And yes, laundry in Italy is much more refined than our US laundry, I agree completely. We should all live in Italy for that reason alone. ;)

I really do think we should get a band of women photographers together and head on over to Italy to photograph the laundry there! It's a thought - and a good one at that - don't you think? Ha hah . . .

    Happy Sunday to you too!

  10. I know, laundry....really? Seriously, haha! It's the beautiful doors and painted walls, and old streets that make the laundry dreamy - I think a little trompe l'oeil is in order. Love the collage of your 'soft' and really like those coffee cups!

  43. The jumping red shoes are priceless. It is almost as if the sneakers are saying to each other: "Take no notice. Best to ignore them."

  44. I think the empty date book means the year is full of opportunities, looking forward to the unknown. I love the coffee cups. Great collection

  46. Love your shots this week! I'm new to Scavenger Hunt - I was a "lurker" last year & thought I'd jump on board this year.
Look forward to many more challenges & sharing this year.

  47. Kathy, as always, your photos are fabulous. I'm just a lurker, however, I love your blog. You can take every challenge and master it. I love the shot of laundry hanging in beautiful Italy. I have the same Lenox coffee cups but would never have been clever enough to come up with that great shot. Mine would have been of eggs!
You make me want to take up photography! For now, I'll see it through your lens.

  52. Hello Kathy......nice to meet another Blackburn. I trust it is your married name and not your maiden name. Hubbys name is Mike. Susan mentioned your comment on her blog to me so thought I'd pop on over to yours. Love your title....in fact it's close to what I tell my grandson all the time and sort of a joke around here. Your photos are quite interesting and I look forward to seeing more. Love the running in red high heels. I used to run but bad knees and the fact I have to work as a nurse for a living sort of prohibit my running around any more. Oh drat!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hmmm . . . you wear thongs and heels? I don't know if we can be friends. I'm more of the gym socks and granny panties kind of gal. But I do wear alot of thongs - only on my feet! Oh well, you know opposites attract don't you? lol

    Great photos btw.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Okay, okay, okay...I never said "I" wear the thongs! haha. But I will cop to heels :)
