This week's prompts are: Plain, Left, Fast, Peace, and Hidden.
1. Plain
"Have a Seat"
Newtown, PA
Just a plain bench on the main street.
2. Left
"Window Box"
Newtown, PA
The "left side" of a window.
3. Fast
"Flexible Flyer"
Newtown, PA
These are pretty fast...when not propped up against a window. But never as fast as a waxed-up metal saucer on those snowy hills.
4. Peace
"Dappled Sunlight"
Newtown, PA
Hidden behind the main street of Newtown, is this beauty of a little street.
William Penn might have founded Newtown, but "I" found one heck of a hair stylist there. Beat that Billy. Because we all know a good haircut trumps...well...pretty much everything.
Happy Sunday. If you get the chance, hop on over to Ramblings and Photos to check out all the other Scavenger Hunt Sunday submissions.

i love your picks this week. do folks still use those sleighs? we never got enough snow in VA - my bro had one. love the flag shot. have a great weekend. ( :
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your hair looks amazing AND you got some great shots for the hunt. Sounds like a successful trip to me! :D
ReplyDeleteLove your "Fast" the vintage sleds are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love your "hidden" photo and the way the sun and shadows play in the photo. It almost looks warm :) Looks like you had a beautiful day! I wish I were there.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots!
ReplyDeleteI had one of those sleds growing up in SE PA (but you had to wax the runners in order to make them go fast!). Love the shot of the bench!!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots all!!
ReplyDeleteGreat series of shots. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteParticularly love your 'hidden' capture - and of course am pleased you found a good hairdresser!! (my reply email is coming to you soon) Renee.
ReplyDeleteNice series - love the sunshine. I understand the constant changing weather conditions, we get the same here in Michigan. Just wait 5 minutes & it'll change!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots of the town. I especially liked the first one of the plain bench. It makes me wonder what stories that bench could tell of all the people who stopped to rest there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great set - I love the flags and the sleds! And your flying snowman mention made me laugh. :D
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo set. I loved my Flexible Flyer as a kid, even thought we didn't get enough snow in Oklahoma to use it all that often. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! Love the old feel, one of my favorite parts of the Philly area!
ReplyDeleteLove all the stones and brick. Beautiful shots, all! And, you're so right..nothing says peace like a snowman that flies!
ReplyDeleteJust loving your choice of photos!! You have such a great eye.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots! Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI love those old school sleds! What a fab set of photos.
ReplyDeleteThe photo with the american flags is so good! I'd love to meet whoever has them flying outside their property!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, you certainly have an eye, my favorite is the Hidden photo.
ReplyDeleteFantastic pictures! I agree about the hairdresser. I have had mine for 36 years and have followed around the city as she finds new salons to work in. I will drive miles for a good haircut.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful shots Kathy. Glad you like your haircut too. Have a wonderful Sunday.
ReplyDeleteWhen and if we finally get to come home to this little corner of the world I shall be bugging you for the name of that hair stylist. I adore the last image such a beautiful capture.

I am impressed with your 'walk around town' completion of this week's prompts. I tried that last week and it was an epic fail. Love the sleds and street shots and you are right, nothing quite says 'peace' like a snowman who has gotten his wings. (no bell ring necessary!).
ReplyDeleteVery good shots again this week! Love the perspectives
ReplyDeletegreat shots and fun commentary! thanx for the cheery post
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tour of my old home town. I know exactly actly actly where you were for each of these shots aside for the flying snowman that totally says "peace". The sign is just redundant-yes? And i do notice you didn't tell who the awesome hairstylist is. A girl needs to keep her secrets. Happy day Kathy.
ReplyDeletethese are just marvelous kathy, i love the way you shoot. i love to read your happy words!!
ReplyDeleteplain was my favorite but i also "cooed" over 2 & 3!! a great week!!
Your shots are quite the illusion. It does look so sunny and nice. Can't beat someone who "knows" how to cut hair. Never let them go!
ReplyDeleteHello Kathy, wonderful to visit your blog..What a great way to meet like minded women..Still working my way thru all the blogs..your photos are such a
ReplyDeletedelight.
Love your shots of Newtown, and also those flexible flyers! I remember how fast they are, and even remember knocking all of my front teeth out while shooting down a snowy hill! Great shots kathy!
ReplyDeleteAll of these are beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteFirst time visitor via SIMC blog hop. My favorite would be the sleds. Your blog title brought me over here. The picture on the about page - perfectly silly and matches the blog title perfectly too. Oh I hope your shoes are clean putting them on your window frame like that.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Kathy! I really like the sleds.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteOne day I'm going to get one of those sleds.
Agreed....nothing tops a good haircut, cause a good hair cut leads to mostly good hair days and nothing tops good hair days, except that of a good hair cut. :-) On a side note...the folks in Newtown, PA must have a cloud hanging over them now. Just can't think of that town name anymore without tragedy coming to mind, even if it did happen in another state.
ReplyDeleteKathy, even though I haven't participated in quite awhile, I always stop in to check out your work! I am always amazed at your pictures and this week is no different! I love how you capture feeling and emotion in all your pictures. Love, Love, Love the Flexible Flyers! I was just telling my kids about the times I would ride them as a kid! Awesome work this week! ~W~
ReplyDeleteTotally - sort of off the subject of your gorgeous photos - my son has had the same barber from his first haircut. This guy also cuts the back of my hair (I wear mine in a bob so the back is tapered). I will tell you that of all the reasons we tossed around whether or not to retire here the only CON I could think of for relocating was finding another barber. ;-)
ReplyDeletewowie....great work this week Kathy. those sleds are the best and bring back happy memories visiting my grandparents in PA in the winter. love the comp on the bench too.
ReplyDeleteNewtown is one of my loves too. But I don't get my hair cut there. I probably travel just as far though...in the other direction.
ReplyDeleteVery nice set. They all have such a nice cozy, homey feel to them. I really liked the Plain and Hidden shots.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that dappled sunshine on the warm red bricks, topped by the flag... I'm so glad you came by to share on Weekly Top Shot #68!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots fast is my favorite
ReplyDeleteI love your scavenger hunt pics! I especially like "fast". I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDelete;-)
