Scavenger Hunt Sunday (4/15/12)...

Last Sunday came and went, with no Scavenger Hunt for moi.  Boo Hiss.  I have to admit I felt a twinge of failure for not participating.  And the Better Half kept telling me "Oh just go ahead and do it, ya know you wanna". Sometimes I just have to put down the camera and experience life around me uninterrupted, which is what I did since all my "Things" were home for the holiday.  But this is a new week, and I'm here again linking up with Ashley at Ramblings and Photos for this week's hunt because...ya KNOW I wanna.

This week's prompts are:  Transportation, Simple, Grain, Stitch, Bubble(s)

1.  Transportation

"Traffic Jam"

What better way to pass time while at a stand still than...to photograph it.  Plus, it gave me the perfect opportunity to experiment with different camera settings for night photography.  Altho, I just KNOW the ladies in the car next to me were talking about me.  Thank you to the car who decided to break down in the middle of an intersection...MEN DRIVERS!  ARGH!

2.  Simple

"Spring Blizzard"

Pretty amazing the effect a simple color like white can create when multiplied a zillion-fold.  A virtual spring blizzard...but NO shovelling.

3.  Grain

I pulled this photo from my Philly photo outing a couple weeks ago.  I was drawn to the texture of the grain in this wood coupled with the peeling paint.  HOW would I survive in a world without peeling paint to photograph?

4.  Stitch

A baseball stitching of course.  BUT...I am soooooo upset at my Phillies right now, DON'T even get me started!!!!!!

5.  Bubble(s)

Well, the intent was to give myself a manicure but...I got side-tracked with "James Dean",  AGAIN.

So glad to be back in the hunt.  Can't wait to see what everyone captured and their interpretations.  Yes, it feels like Sunday again, all is right in my world....EXCEPT those Phillies.

Sorry about the Phillies-there's still time. Bosox are starting out blah too. I love what you did with the baseball, the light in the bubble shot-and I too would have "played in traffic", but probably not even noticed the woman in the next car gawking. Men drivers! I don't think the younger generations would even know why to say that. have a great day Kathy.

  40. Welcome Back - I know about hating to miss (I almost did this week) - It gets addictive.
    Wonderful shots.
Transportation - Love all the lights of the traffic (hate being stuck in it)
Simple - So pretty, that's my kind of snow storm
    Bubbles - Love the sparkle
    Top Picks:
Grain - Loved the texture of this photo
Stitch - Way cool, how did you do that?

  41. Great shots, Kathy. Hmmmm, that baseball stitch is popular.

  42. SOO L.O.V.E. Spring Blizzard! What a fantastic shot, Kathy!

And it's OK to miss every now and then, don't feel like a failure. I've had to put a lot of photo projects on hold and it's been forever since I've participated in Scavenger hunt and it's rare I get around to participating in Texture Tuesday's anymore - which as you know I love both. That's life - you gotta get out there and experience it (you said it!), and sometimes you just get busy with other things in life, so it is what it is. I think you do a bang up job of keeping up with all the photo projects to be honest, so again, don't feel badly when you just can't swing it.

Great set this week and welcome back!

LOVE the "Simple" photo. How did you do that?

The clarity in the bubbles photo is just amazing.

And what was the other thing I wanted to say??? hmmm...

    Oh yeah.

    1. Haha...I didn't know you were from that area :). I HATE these west coastr swings, it means lots of late nights for me with the time difference. You are hitting the Phils at a GREAT time, they stink and have no bats. But should be a good pitching match up with Halladay and Lincecum tonight.

  47. LOVE that baseball shot! But don't worry - you know with that pitching, the Phillies will be fine! The Mets jut got lucky and lets face it, they are a minor league team. IN the end, The phillies will win the division of course! :) (I can be nice b/c I am a yankees fan and the phillies don't affect me LOL!)
