This week's prompts are: Transportation, Simple, Grain, Stitch, Bubble(s)
1. Transportation
"Traffic Jam"
"Spring Blizzard"
I pulled this photo from my Philly photo outing a couple weeks ago. I was drawn to the texture of the grain in this wood coupled with the peeling paint. HOW would I survive in a world without peeling paint to photograph?
What better way to pass time while at a stand still than...to photograph it. Plus, it gave me the perfect opportunity to experiment with different camera settings for night photography. Altho, I just KNOW the ladies in the car next to me were talking about me. Thank you to the car who decided to break down in the middle of an intersection...MEN DRIVERS! ARGH!
2. Simple
"Spring Blizzard"
Pretty amazing the effect a simple color like white can create when multiplied a zillion-fold. A virtual spring blizzard...but NO shovelling.
3. Grain
I pulled this photo from my Philly photo outing a couple weeks ago. I was drawn to the texture of the grain in this wood coupled with the peeling paint. HOW would I survive in a world without peeling paint to photograph?
4. Stitch
5. Bubble(s)
Well, the intent was to give myself a manicure but...I got side-tracked with "James Dean", AGAIN.
So glad to be back in the hunt. Can't wait to see what everyone captured and their interpretations. Yes, it feels like Sunday again, all is right in my world....EXCEPT those Phillies.

ReplyDeleteLove the Stitch photo! So striking. It made me think of a person's spine.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection ~ I love the how you title your photos...spring blizzard! The baseball stitching is magic...and between the Phillis and the Sox (both 3 and 5...) our baseball faith is being SERIOUSLY tested!!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your shots, but I especially love your transportation shot - cool colors. Way to make the best of a traffic jam! As far as the Phillies go, keep the Phaith!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm TRYIN' Kathy...but they are TICKING ME OPH!!!
DeleteThe hunt is a contagious thing...and very addicting. I don't know how, but I never miss it. Wouldn't seem nat'rul, you know?
ReplyDeleteSorry about the Phillies-there's still time. Bosox are starting out blah too. I love what you did with the baseball, the light in the bubble shot-and I too would have "played in traffic", but probably not even noticed the woman in the next car gawking. Men drivers! I don't think the younger generations would even know why to say that. have a great day Kathy.
Love the baseball! And your transporation shot is really cool too.
ReplyDeletewhat an awesome set, i can't pick a favorite!! i did not participate last week either and i am scrambling today!!
ReplyDeleteYou hit this outta the PHILLY ball park my friend! lol

Wonderful photos! That night shot is awesome...and I also love peeling paint! Anything with texture catches my eye...
ReplyDeleteFirst off... you are gorgeous woman, LOVE your header! Fab set, stitch is my fav!!
ReplyDeleteTaking a break does often wonders! Love your edit for the baseball.
ReplyDeleteYour interpretations are spot on - I really like how you've processed each image.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Back - I know about hating to miss (I almost did this week) - It gets addictive.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots.
Transportation - Love all the lights of the traffic (hate being stuck in it)
Simple - So pretty, that's my kind of snow storm
Bubbles - Love the sparkle
Top Picks:
Grain - Loved the texture of this photo
Stitch - Way cool, how did you do that?
Great shots, Kathy. Hmmmm, that baseball stitch is popular.
ReplyDeleteLOVe the spring blizzard!!!!
ReplyDeleteSOO L.O.V.E. Spring Blizzard! What a fantastic shot, Kathy!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's OK to miss every now and then, don't feel like a failure. I've had to put a lot of photo projects on hold and it's been forever since I've participated in Scavenger hunt and it's rare I get around to participating in Texture Tuesday's anymore - which as you know I love both. That's life - you gotta get out there and experience it (you said it!), and sometimes you just get busy with other things in life, so it is what it is. I think you do a bang up job of keeping up with all the photo projects to be honest, so again, don't feel badly when you just can't swing it.
Great set this week and welcome back!
Angie
xo
These are all great, but that stitch photo really caught my interest. Keep thinking Italy..... When is your trip???
ReplyDeleteI love all of these photos. I get self conscious when in public and taking photos of random things. I can only imagine how I would feel in the driver's seat of my car lol.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the "Simple" photo. How did you do that?
The clarity in the bubbles photo is just amazing.
And what was the other thing I wanted to say??? hmmm...
Oh yeah.
GO GIANTS!!!! HUM BABY :)
Haha...I didn't know you were from that area :). I HATE these west coastr swings, it means lots of late nights for me with the time difference. You are hitting the Phils at a GREAT time, they stink and have no bats. But should be a good pitching match up with Halladay and Lincecum tonight.
DeleteGreat set! LOVE the transportation and stitch...just too cool!
ReplyDeleteNice set,my favorite would be simple.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that baseball shot! But don't worry - you know with that pitching, the Phillies will be fine! The Mets jut got lucky and lets face it, they are a minor league team. IN the end, The phillies will win the division of course! :) (I can be nice b/c I am a yankees fan and the phillies don't affect me LOL!)
ReplyDeleteYou've got my Raul :(
DeleteWow, what great shots!!! I love the stitch and the way the ball disappears. You really did a great job this week. The old door is a great find!!
ReplyDeleteSuch great shots (as usual). I especially loved your night traffic one! Gorgeous, and so creative!
