This week's prompts are: The Small Things, Valentine, Illustration, Work of Art, and Window.
1. The Small Things
"Sweet Gum Tree"
Picked up a whole bunch of these small things at Valley Forge last week. Figured they would come in handy for a Scavenger Hunt Prompt sooner or later. Go figure, it was sooner.
2. Valentine
"Love Is Open"
Much better than "Love is Closed".
3. Illustration
"Good Fortune"
I'm pretty sure this illustrates the point that I should head to Nordstrom's shoe department, post haste.
4. Work of Art
"Let Them Eat Cake"
Seems like such a waste to eat this beautiful work of art. But someone's gotta do it.
5. Window
"How Much is that Doggie in the Window?"
You just never know what you'll find in the parking lot of "Whole Foods". Apparently an organic lovin' canine.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. If you get the chance, make sure to hop on over to Scavenger Hunt Sunday at Ramblings and Photos to check out all the creative submissions. Always a treat. Always a "Why didn't 'I' think of THAT!?!" moment too for moi.

Such a pretty cake - love the colors! And I'm glad Love is OPEN!!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding group - love the 'love open' sign as well as the gorgeous cake (too pretty to eat!) and the doggie in the window at the market - kudos for having camera / phone at hand and thinking to snap a shot. At some point today I passed something and thought 'I should take a picture of that' - but alas I was driving and now I can't even remember what it was. Oh well! Enjoyed the visit.
ReplyDeletethe seed pod - amazing natural structure - they are surprising durable too.
ReplyDeleteGreat group of shots... that first one, with the white background, really grabbed my attention!
ReplyDeleteGreat set. So glad love is open. LOL Adore that sweet gum shot. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteLaughed lots about your commentary of photo/prompts no.3 - and am encouraging you from afar. Renee
ReplyDeleteLove the detail of the Sweet Gum pod...great photos! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThe cake is wonderful. It reminds me of the Sugar Arts Show at a fair we attended last fall. They do indeed look too good to eat. Nicely captured. Have a blessed Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLove "how much is that doggie in the window" So cute and looks as if he liked getting his picture taken. Glad your weather was not too bad. Our friends in Massachusetts have gotten hammered. Trees down, no electric or water for 2 days so far... No fun in the winter. Will look forward to you snow photos
ReplyDeleteMm, that cake is gorgeous! Love the little things too - very very cool!
ReplyDeleteBe sure and show us what you got at Nordstroms, plus those cakes don't eat themselves. You have shown me that sweetgum balls have a purpose besides spraining ankles, and whew, I'm so glad Love is Open!
ReplyDeleteExactly! Why didn't I think of THAT illustration - we had chinese one night this past week. SO could have done that. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy week!
Great set of shots!! Love them all and can not choose a favorite!! Although I am a sucker for pups and that one reminds me a little of mine. ;)
ReplyDeleteOkay, these are all amazing shots for the hunt. That work of art one.... YUM. And I love your illustration. I hope you are out seeking some new footwear :D
ReplyDeleteHugs to you.
Gorgeous pictures! I really love your photography style (for lack of a better term? I am no photographer!! lol).
ReplyDeleteI love the name of your blog too!
great shots. i would love a piece of cake, please. i always wonder how many folks take those #'s & go get a lottery ticket? is that doggie hungry, curious, or what? makes me curious indeed.... ( :
ReplyDeleteThe gum tree pod is a perfect capture in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at your commentary on the fortune. I believe you could interpret most fortunes as an omen to go shopping :). The cake is gorgeous! My favorite is the first photo...love it's simplicity.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! I love it all! Did you use a light box to shoot the sweet gum pod and fortune cookie? The contrast is just breathtaking (I'm still learning to tackle photos like these). These are easily my favorite photos of the week. Love.
ReplyDeleteYes, a home made one. A cardboard box With a piece of white poster board bent along the inside to give it a Seamless appearance.
DeleteWonderful series. The Sweet Gum pod is cool. So glad Love is Open! I would take the illustration as a sign to go buy a lottery ticket with the numbers listed. Wonderful photos , have a happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteDo you live near Valley Forge. I am assuming there is only ONE Valley Forge. I am about 20 minutes from the park. Great pics!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful set of pictures. Capturing life in the moments.
ReplyDeleteyou create such beautiful pics. do you use a photo box to take pictures (like small things & illustration)? that dog in the window is very clever. have a great week.
ReplyDeleteCertainly better than love is closed. Hee, hee. Love that doggy shot. So precious. Guess it wasn't a barking protect the car one. Yes, head right over and get those shoes. You can show your hubby the fortune. Happy day Kathy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to visit you SHS shots.
ReplyDeleteLoved the "Love is Open" sign (and comentary)

LOVE this series of images, the waiting dog (aren't they patient creatures??) and the sweet gum pod, I've picked them up for years (and made wreaths etc. with them)... love that macro shot... most pleasing... Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #69!
ReplyDeletelove your choices for the scavenger hunt! I'm glad you had the first one labeled because I was trying to remember from decades ago having to hunt for leaves and other aspects of trees for science. I love the sign "Love is open"!
ReplyDeleteThe cake and the dog....I'm just speechless! Wonderful interpretations!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots Kathy! That cake looks amazing. Glad you got off better than we did with Nemo. We had about 20 inches but our road crews have it all cleaned up nicely. Expecting a few more inches today. Looks like winter has come in with a bang. Good for the ski resorts. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretations! I love your macro shot and the cake does look mighty delicious! Glad you survived the storm.
ReplyDeleteLove the thought behind #3! You gotta make those fortunes work for ya!
ReplyDeleteSooooo? Did you hit Nordstroms?! I love those little doo hickies on that 1st photo. We have them here too. Glad you didn't get hit w/all that snow. Great photos my friend.
