Time again for Scavenger Hunt Sunday. If you get the chance, pop on over to Ashley's Ramblings and Photos to check out all the amazing submissions.
This week's prompts are: 7, Clouds, Sun Flare, High Angle, and Low Angle...
1. 7
"Christ Church"
Philadelphia, PA
The Church of our Founding Fathers. The first Anglican Church in Pennsylvania. Worship here today in this Episcopal church and you can sit in the "Washington Family", "Franklin Family", "Ross Family", "Morse Family", etc. family pews. FYI, Ben Franklin sat directly behind ole' George. George must have had EXTREMELY long legs because his pew is the equivalent in size of flying first class, while Ben sat in coach. Would you like a bag of peanuts and a soft drink with your "Book of Common Prayer" Ben?
2. Clouds
"In a Fog"
Ambler, PA
Fog is just low lying clouds...right??? Quite honestly, I have to admit I love this photo. Something about the combo of the fog with the size perspective of the tree vs. the bench. A bit ominous AND pleasing to my senses at the same time. I've never shot in fog before, so my morning taking advantage of the conditions Mother Nature presented to me was quite an adventure in camera settings.
3. Sun flare
I prefer not to think of sneaks hung from telephone wires as anything drug related. Instead, I prefer to think of it as "Has anyone seen where I left my shoes?"
4. High Angle
Okay, I was a bit confused by these last two prompts. Does "high angle" mean you are looking up HIGH? Or, does it mean you are shooting from up HIGH? I'm opting for the former.
5. Low Angle
"Independence Hall"
Philadelphia, PA
He's got legs, and he knows how to use them. Commodore Barry must be doing some serious work on the Elliptical, just LOOK at those calves.
Another hunt in the books. Whew. I was pretty lucky this week...all prompts done by mid week. Which means Karma will be out in full force to get me with next week's prompts, and I will be sweatin' it :).

Love that fog shot Kathy - wonderfully atmospheric.
ReplyDeleteGreat set Kathy, I love your cloud, so beautiful and atmospheric! High angle is so beautiful and I love your flare, awesome shot!
ReplyDeleteLovely and funny as always. never knew you get first class in church :) Must run for office soon... Great fog shot. So what is the story behind sneakers? I noticed photos of them on the interwebs. Must google.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images : ) Where do you live again? Even the sneakers are pretty : ) I work in Philly with a lot of people that do actually sell drugs and they told me that the sneakers don't mean that any more in the city. They think it is funny that everyone thinks that. They just throw their old sneakers up there when they are worn out.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that. Never knew if the "drug" association was real or an urban myth. I live in the Ambler/Horsham area...how about you?
DeleteBeautiful shots Kathy. (and that's not a joke!) I love the fog....it looks so mysterious.

DeleteThose pews are quite interesting - I've never seen them that high, ever! And yes, fog totally counts, in fact I think it trumps clouds in mood for sure....and love the shoe sun flare! Shucks, I was hoping someone I knew would win the gazillion dollars so I could talk them into buying that beach house here, dang! ; )
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I love your sun flare and I really love your high angle!
ReplyDeleteYour cloud shot is seriously gorgeous . . . perhaps my favourite that I have seen in many months. (Although your pink blossom shots from just a shot while back were so striking as well.) I wondered about the angle thing too and then decided it's all about how we as individuals interpret the prompt and went the same way as you. I really like your high angle bird shot. Always enjoy your posts, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteI want you to know that I lay in wait to see your Scavenger hunt images every Saturday night! As always, Kathy, you've done a brilliant job! xo
ReplyDeleteWell, I had all my plans on how to spend that money as well, but.... Maybe next time.

I didn't go to synagogue yesterday (super lazy) and a friend called me last night to see if it's because I won the lottery, sadly no! Love how you described the pews at the church!! And I love the sneaker shot, I haven't seen shoes hanging from a wire in ages!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see more of your Philly shots. They look fabulous! I love the curvy-ness of that tree in your fog shot. It has such a great gesture!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! Your fog shot is stunning...I could stare at it all day. Your comments about the church pews made me laugh out loud! :P (I was confused about the high angle, low angle shots, too - wasn't sure how to interpret them.)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful images... in particular the middle three. I LOVE Sun Flare so much! It's just so happy and carefree and pretty. :) Clouds (Fog) is gorgeous, too. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the whole perspective and 'eeriness'(spelling?) of your cloud shot! Shoes? Funny, remembering that moment and the whole discussion! Great to see more of your Phili shots from our shoot!
ReplyDeleteI was just sure that I would win the lotto too. Bummer, bummer, bummer!
ReplyDeleteOh well.
Okay, I don't even know where to start with these. Are you kidding me with the fog shot?! THAT IS BRILLANT. I love the processing and the feel of it. And your sweet little birdie. What a perfect shot. (I too am not sure if I am supposed to be high looking down... or low and looking up.... I went with the latter!) Have a great Sunday!!!
Amazing and interesting photos, Kathy, as usual! I was confused on the high, low angle myself. Meh -- you did great!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at Your Sunday Best. :)
I love, love, love your cloud shot! I'm with you on fog being low clouds. That shot is just stunning.
ReplyDeleteI loved the church shot, but the fog was my fave. You shold blow that one up and frame it. It reminded me of Ansel Adams.

ReplyDeleteI do love how you can make me laugh....in the first sentence. Fortunately I'd set my coffee down or it might have been a spit-take. Your fog shot is a winner-sincerely that is gorgeous, moody and really well done. Can you say "photography contest entry"?, or at least print the damn thing for your wall. Really. How 'come if I do the eliptical I don't have anything like that...great low POV. Happy week Kathy.
ReplyDeletegreat shots.....i was also confused about the high vs low but my confusion ended in the same place!! truth be told, i prepared my entry yesterday but came here before i posted it today to see what you did ;)))))
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures as always. Your angle shots are great. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLove your foggy photo. The church pews are wonderful, and I love the history. I would think this would be your day...go out and cause some laughter!
ReplyDeleteWowsers! If that was MY fog shot, I'd have that turned into a canvas and hung in my house. It's really beautiful. Actually all your photos are super. Love the tone on the sneaks shot. Great job this week Kathy.
ReplyDeletelove the fog shots!
ReplyDeleteFabulous job on your shots for this week's hunt. Love the fog!
ReplyDeleteKathy,
ReplyDeleteLove the fog shot...simply breathtaking. Had to laugh when I saw the sneaker shot as I was remembering the conversation surrounding them! I love your interpretation of seven! Lots of sevens in your picture...sitting in that church was so awesome. Thanks for leading us there.
Great shots all around.
~W~
I can see why you love your LOW CLOUD shot.. It looks amazing.. But they all look pretty darn fabulous..
ReplyDeleteHugs~
The fog shot is hands down your best for this week...love it. And I am sooo confused by up and down. I think I did it just reverse of you...oh well!!
ReplyDeleteLove the fog shot! I looked up hight angle photography on Wwikipedia to get it straight! High angle is when the camera is high, looking down on the subject. Either way the shots are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the fog shot is wonderful....something about it is so pleasing to look at. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteOMG!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm in love with your fog shot!!!! Is that possible?

ReplyDeleteIf I (had) to pick a favorite I'm opting for the "Foggy" Cloud shot.
Yeah, I was disappointed in the lottery results this week too. Bummer. But your photos are wonderful! I love your Clouds shot, and of course fog counts! That's a beautiful composition. I also love that little bird, all fluffed up against the chill. Great post!
ReplyDeleteNot a winner here either. Love your fog shot and flare
